Of the post Chicago Air Jordan game shoes, the XVI's stand apart as one of the more classier looking and more elegant shoes in the line. Just looking at it, you knew it was an Air Jordan. The patent leather made it's return on the toe, but the removabale shroud was what gave these shoes it's character. Athough, it was a bit bulky with the shroud on, the XVI's were pretty comfortable.

My friend is the guy dunking on that alley-oop in that second commercial in the gym with the mos def song. He played ball for DePaul. What an experience.
 
The picture below is of me, and was taken on February 18th 2001 @ the Chicago Auto Show. Some might remember that that was the day Dale Earnhardt, Sr. died.

As for the shoes, I wanted them so bad I couldn't wait for the release day, so I went to Ford City Mall and bought them early(I think only a few days) fromAthletes Foot. Paid $200

and since they didn't want to get in trouble I got the shoes but not the box. Back then, I wasn't collecting so Ididn't care, I didn't want to take that long train/bus ride up there again just for a box.

I still have the shoes but they were balled in so many times they're basically dead. I've had a couple other pairs since but not a DS pair in my size.
 
XVI's are worthy. I only own the cdp versions but I'm on the lookout for more XVI's..retro or OG.

I actually bought my first pair of XVIs back in August....Deadstock OG Black/Red XVIs. Very nice shoe IMO.
 
I love the xvi's, very good to ball in they were low to the ground. My favorite colorway was the gingers
 
top 5 for me.....jb please give us some more retro's....just because the 15s were epic failures when they retro'd doesn't mean the 16s will bealso.....just an overall great shoe
 
[color= rgb(204, 255, 0)]Quality over quantity, right?[/color] These are the only colorways I really like so, not a deep partof the collection. And, OG's in my size (12) are hard to find.
