Returning items at Nike w/o receipt...

If I return a pair at Nike without a receipt, do I...

...get store credit?
...have to exchange for something on the spot?
...get turned away?

Any info would help.

It could depend on several details:
- type of product (footwear, apparel, accesories, equipment)
- manufacturer's defect?
- used for intended activity (running shoes used as court shoes)
- length of time from release date
- attitude of the manager on duty

You might want to call ahead and speak to whoever is handling returns that day to see what they have to say.

Whats the difference between Niketown or Nikestore?

i need to know, cause i got plenty of nike kicks i didn't wear and don't want anymore.

Nike TOWNS are Nike flagship stores located in major cities: NYC, LA, CHI, SF, LV etc.

Nike STORES are the smaller version located inside shopping malls in smaller markets.

Nike Return Policy:

WITH Receipt:
Merchandise can be returned for a refund or exchange FOR ANY REASON within 30 days of the date of purchase.
AFTER 30 days, merchandise must be unworn and unwashed to receive a refund or exchange.
Refunds will be issued based on the original form of payment.

W/O Receipt:
Merchandise originally purchased from a Nike Retail Store can be returned for an exchange or STORE CREDIT at the current selling price
if the time is unworn and unwashed.

Take it from me. I just did this BTW. I bought a pair of Air Max 09's in April right before I left toIraq. Anyway, less than a month in the desert my Air bubble popped. I had to wait till I got back at the end of Oct to make a claim. So basically I had themfor 6 months and I lost my receipt and threw away my box. All I did was call Nike and they gave me a RMA code to send the shoes back. I put them in a genericbox with the RMA code and address of the return center on it...Less than 10 days later I received a $160 voucher that can only be used on NDC. Too easy.

Oh and my shoes were really dusty and dirty from being out in the desert, so the condition of them didn't matter. I bought them from the Finishline. Thankyou Nike.

I'll find out this Sunday

^ha word, i got a load of Air Forces i never even touched yet and im going to see what i can get back for them.

^yeah but it is a pair of shoe.. not clothing and stuff.. well I'll just try to call them..

Can you even returned used stuff? BTW the guy who returned his shoes got a voucher because of a problem with the shoes performance which is different then justa regular return.

^yup.. that's what I'm asking for.. can you return used stuff after 30 days.. It's not my stuff, It's my friends..He bought some jackets andshirts, used 2-3 times then told me he left it in his cabinet.. and now wants to return it..

Has anyone had experience returning close to the 2 year mark? I have a pair of AM 90s manufactured in October of 08 and the sole just split today. (They've been worn maybe 15 times, never to run, only casually.) They stress that they won't even inspect shoes that are over 2 years from production, but these are close.

Again, any feedback will be appreciated. I guess the worst case scenario is they send them back to me instead of giving a voucher.

To answer your questions (again) completely:

Yes, you can return things to Nike stores without a receipt.

No, they do not have to be things that are sold at that particular store.

Yes, they have to be new/unused OR have some sort of defect with them AND have to be within 2 years of production (you MIGHT get away with it in-store if they are older than 2 years, but I definitely wouldn't send stuff back to NDC if it's older than 2 years).  As far as having the original box... I don't think they care that much usually.

You will receive store credit (a gift card) equal to the value of the current selling price of the item at THAT particular store (these prices can be/are different at different stores).

You will need to have your driver's license (or have someone with you who has a driver's license).  This applies no matter what if you don't have a receipt... whether you are going for store credit/gift card/exchange/different size/etc.

As far as I know, you can exchange AT LEAST 3 different times with the same driver's license up to AT LEAST around $500 in store credit (these are figures that are not confirmed, but have come from my experiences/research of doing this).
