Dope shot Fong :pimp:

Definitely something I wanted to try to do when I get another flash. Did you have someone else throw them up, use a remote, etc.?

I had someone else throw it up. Pretty hard to get the timing right where the shoes fall in place. It's just one whole experiment overtime until you see that shot that looks right.

Pick up some foamcore or whatever from like a Home Depot. Cheap and easy.

God advice. Might get that at my local art store.

You kidding me?...that's an awesome shot!...a little editing and you can make the bridge pop enough

it's already pretty heavily edited., can't get it to a place i'm really happy with it though. couple more from the day

really should have gone for a higher vantage point given the weather

i always read great things about the fuji mirrorless joints, specifically & the m4/3rds cameras/system in general, but the retro aesthetic of those cameras bothers me...i know the eos-m had some issues but why'd you switch?

i use an x-e1. great system if you can get used to its quirks. personally i like the retro look, and the glass is top notch

Hey guys.

Is there anything I can buy whether it be a lens or an attachment of some sort to make my images sharper on this camera? Any help is appreciated and thank you.

Amazon product ASIN B005MTMFHU

well some of that may have to do with the lens that is on the camera, so you are kinda stuck there...other than that you can (maybe?) fiddle with the contrast & sharpness settings in camera; then you can also do things like make sure you are taking pics in a very stable manner & make sure your shutter speed is fast enough for whatever you are shooting/your focal length (a basic rule is if your focal length is at 60mm, your shutter speed should be no lower than @ 1/60s)

I opted to just buy refurbished w/ the warranty off amazon for piece of mind. Copped the new 50/1.4 and Tamron 24-70/2.8 to go with.

Was traditionally a Canon crop shooter so this is my first FF body and Nikon body as well...hope it was worth it.

Man I kinda regret buying this camera I bought it when I was young and paid a lot for it thinking it was a good camera to start with to get into photography. Now that I'm older and know exactly the type of images I'm looking for and understand the basics of photography, I want a better camera but don't see myself dropping another 3-5 hundred again till later. Is there such thing as a trade in lol or something I can do to get possibly a DSLR.. any help is appreciated NT fam thank you.

don't stress it, there is saying: "the best camera is the one you have with you" so just use what you have...also getting a better understanding of your camera (its limitations as well as its strengths) may help you get the type of images you are looking for!

On Friday I did a shoot with my girlfriend, and I'm starting to think that my ND filter is softening up my shots. I have a Polaroid circular ND. Granted I was shooting with an 85mm but I'm pretty sure it wasn't camera shake. Thinking of going with the B+W over the Hoya. Anybody have any suggestions?
Post a couple shots and the settings

For the lighting gurus: what do you go to more for sunny days -- ND filter or CPL filter? The ND looks more beneficial for cutting down the light. Haven't read anything that mentions that property about the CPL. They just say it helps with reflections and contrast in sky.

ND filter to cut down the light. It allows for a slower shutter speed and wider aperture. Just did a shoot with a speedlight in an apollo orb. My camera sync speed is 1/200 but I have to shoot at 1/160 so I don't get the shutter creep with my wireless triggers. I like to shoot with a wide aperture so the ND filter helps out with that too.

BTW first pic I didn't use the ND filter because I forgot my adapter... The rest were on my 85mm. I had to overcompensate on the sharpening because it a bit soft. Now they seem a bit too sharp
