The Official Photography Thread - Vol. 3

Had 2 magazine shoots this week.

One that wasn't used:

1000

And one from training last night:

1000

Care to tell us your setup for the second photo? Are you using strobes?

so i just got off a meeting with the local Red bull team over here and they want me to start shooting for them on events and stuff around the middle east. really nervous and excited on whats gonna happen next.

they showed me this and I got really surprised they had this website with so much dope photos on everything
https://www.redbullcontentpool.com/

tons of portraits and action shots (would love to get some tips muscle68 :nerd: )

^^^^Middle east? For real? Damn...I am jealous. I wish I could shoot some straight Nat Geo stuff in 3rd world countries. Just some really interesting content and one hell of a story to tell afterwards. And Redbull makes tons of money. I would think they would pay to get decent photographers. Congrats.

I shot for Monster and had no complaints. Imagine Red Bull is the same. Great opportunity for him.

^^

just got really really lucky guys. I live here in Oman now, really small country just beside Dubai and Red Bull Oman right just has 2 photographers and i just sent them a link of some of my stuff (just a tweet actually hahaha) and wanted me in right away. whats great is that they might fly me to diff places in the middle east to shoot events which is why im really excited. hopefully that pushes thru and they aren't talking bs

seriously got really LUCKY on this. lucky that there aren't that much photogs here in Oman that are into shooting stuff like this

Anyone here live in Los Angeles?

I'll be down there this weekend and have zero plans. If anyone wants to meet up and snap some pics, let me know.

my items arrived/arriving today...can't wait to contribute to this thread again  :nthat:

What's going on fellas.  Me and a few buddies are heading to Denver in a couple of months, and I was thinking about buying a camera to take some pics for our trip and pics for future trips.  I don't really have the time to search through this whole thread, so do you guys have any recommendations or tips on buying your first dslr camera?  I actually want to start taking pictures professionally in a few years.  With that being said any help would be grateful.  My budget on buying is around $450.

mirrorless cameras would seem to be the future (at least for amateurs), but supposedly they aren't really popular here in the states...what camera are you shooting with? i'm rocking with a sony nex-6:

yea, I'd agree with you on that. mirrorless cameras are really great for beginners/amateurs and the size is an added convenience as well. they don't seem to be too popular around here....and in this thread lol

I'm still using the nex-f3. great shots btw

thanks, i had an f3 too; awesome camera! it kinda makes sense that these cameras aren't too popular, it'd be easy to assume that the smaller size of the mirrorless camas = less features/less quality, and while that is generally true, the gap isn't that big, and these mirrorless joints are closing the gap with every new camera, plus they are small enough to carry around comfortably. are you using any other lenses besides the kit lens?

This camera looks sick:

vid doesn't work, what camera is in the vid?
