yep, great lens for the price if you don't mind no AF.

dont own one personally but know several people that do.

I was wondering if anyone had a review on the Sony a5100? I plan on using it mostly for filming, and pictures here and there. Thanks in advance.

Definitely get a camera backpack and not a sling. I hated carrying it at first but I have the Incase pro back pack and thought it was super big but took it on hikes with literally all my gear and it's like no strain on my back at all. It might be silly to walk around with so much stuff but I was really happy to have all things with me without wishing I had brought it in the first place. But overall, get a backpack cause slings cause mad stress on your one shoulder. With the sling, that should be good with a pro body, lens and a tripod.

It's the Tamron 15-30mm. Honestly I like how the 24mm L renders it's lights but I like the wideness of the Tamron. I feel like no one has really bought this lens and I can't really honestly say if the lens s worth it or not. I've had it for months now and feel like it's only got me so many good things. I think what I need to do is just shoot with that and only that because I usually bring all three of my lenses out and use the best one for the specific situation. The totally downside to it is the weight of course. It's really added tons of it when I was at my limit already.

I've had a great level of interest in photography for YEARS and shot with a mirrorless camera exclusively in auto mode for a while.

Finally took the plunge this past march to cop a DSLR and started shooting full manual for about 3 weeks now

Which mirrorless and which DSLR? Dope shots man.

It was really foggy but I like the way the light reflected off the fog to create more colors in the sky

Im the same way with wanting all my gear with me at a time. I feel as though anything interesting could pop up, never want to feel like "oh man should have bought this lens with me" etc.

I have a Lowepro Passport, and it serves its purpose. I carry one body with me, and 4 lenses at a time...plus the usual accessories. Ive never felt it was a burden on my back.

What does this mean

"18-55mm focal length range which is equivalent to a 27-82.5mm focal length in the 35mm format"

I've read several places but it's all copy and paste

35mm format refers to the camera's sensor size. most low to mid level camera's are cropped. meaning their sensor is small than the standard 35mm sensor. the sensor size affects the focal length. most, if not all lens are measured according to the standard sensor size (35mm).

Guess what he's trying to say that most professionals use full frame cameras.


Essentially what it means is that when you use a APS-C it will "add more zoom."

So a 35 mm on a APS-C camera is like a 50mm on a full frame.
