Also found my next lens purchase the 17-50mm Sigma. Good price and decent reviews. Anybody shoot with it or heard anything about it?

I use to have it. Great lens. Stayed on my camera most of the time.

Looks like I was cripplomg myself only trying to focus on Nikkor lenses. Next will be tje Samyang 85mm for portraits and that'll hold me off till I go full frame.

Also just started my trial with Smart Shooter 3 since im looking to do a lot of live tethered shoots and its pretty smooth

It's kind of hard to cause I want the aspect ratio to be correct from the original size. I didn't think it looked that odd in person and some photographers in that class had wider lenses which showed more of the chair and sort of gave it that uniformed pattern but with my 50mm, it only got the tip which didn't look as good. Mental note to self and others that shoot flash, always go with a zoom. Just way more friendlier than a prime and the flash helps get you sharp photos where you don't need the faster lens.

What is the best 35mm lens out there for a cropped sensor cam?

I like them all, just would have went lighter on the sharpness of the third photo because of all of the elements.

I love mine, only thing it is bloody heavy compared to my other EF-S lenses.

I'd go with craigslist, but beware. They have the most low ballers I've ever seen. I always stress that I'm not in any rush/need to sell these things for the people trying to get a steal.

If you really want 35mm prime then go for Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L

craigslist is my go to for cheaper lenses under $200-$300, anything if higher ebay or amazon; there is also keh.com but i have never used it...you can alos try local camera gear stores

definitely second the suggestion of a zoom, more flexibility...i've never used it but the sigma 18-35 f1.8 might be a good candidate as rental for both range on a crop sensor & speed?

My favorite though would have to be photography message boards.

Thank you all for the help/suggestions. Just threw em up on craigslist to see what happens. 17-40L and sigma 10mm Fisheye. Might try a local camera store just to get rid of em if not.
I recently upgraded to a 6D so don't have a use for the fisheye anymore and want to get the sigma 35 f/1.4 instead of the 17-40, I've always loved primes.
