Bachelor Pad.

Picking out light fixtures now. Chandeliers, and ceiling fans. Should my door knobs and lighting have the same finish as my faucets? I have chrome faucets in the kitchen and bathrooms so should I get a chrome finish for everything else? I'm leaning more towards bronze door knobs and lighting but not sure how cohesive it would all look

Chandeliers doe?

Mixing textures of metals is fine; mixing colors of metals is meh. To me at least.

It's nothing too fancy, just above the dining table and one in the breakfast room.

So I should stick with the chrome or maybe even nickel?

Just started moving my stuff into the new apartment.

Go for it, and cop the Eames. Dont buy a knockoff, you'll regret it. I recently bought four Eames molded side chairs. I'm currently using 2 of them as dining chairs, and 2 as side chairs.

I am finally all moved in to my new spot, but nowhere near done unpacking. :smh:

I did however, have time to get most of my sitting area complete. All I need to do is put up all my art pieces above the couch, place my Sapien bookcase to the left of the couch, and pick up a couple more side chairs, and this room is complete. Moving is no fun at all, but finally getting everything into place is worth it. Just a few more rooms, and we'll be all set!

Anyone have any advice on hiding speaker wires ? Can not hide under the floor boards or drill holes. Seeing the wires run across the wall is irking me

On the floor or wall? I can't think of anything other than those wire covers...

Few additions coming soon:

- a friend said she's coming over this week/weekend to paint me a canvas for over the couch.
- going to add a hanging light from IKEA in the nook above the bookcase
- along the sides of the nook im going to hang a few black and white framed photos

- need to have the chairs steam cleaned ; or possibly reupholstered depending on the price my friend gives me
- going to take down the wood blinds and put the white ones back up ; let in too much light and looks weird on the outside of the house having only one set of windows with wood
- need some cool curtains for the windows
- will eventually replace the palm tree shelf with something w/o the trees... got it for free just as a space holder

Too late for the Bluetooth speakers. Just bought some N7100 from sony. Wish they had Bluetooth speakers. Seen the wire covers. Don't really know what I'm looking for. NT always creative. Hate seeing wires on the damn wall.

A little ashamed to admit it, but the rug is Ikea. I swore off Ikea furnishings after finally getting out of apartment living. I just dont want any furniture I'm going to have to replace in a few years in my new home. But this rug was too good to pass up imo. I'm all for smaller furnishings from Ikea, like rugs, frames, mirrors, small desks/shelving units, but for sofas, dining tables, large shelving units, etc., no thanks. Thats just personal preference.

Hey... Nothing wrong with Ikea. I bet if you told 90% of the people it came from west elm or some place different they wouldn't know
