OFFICIAL BCS TITLE GAME....LSU vs. Ohio State..(plz put in Henton)..!!!!

So because Ohio State ended 1 week before everyone, won their last game, while Lsu lost, WVU lost, MIZZOU lost, they dont deserve it?

Show me logic fam.

LSU backed in as well. They lost their #1 spot TWICE.

LSU backed in to the title game because they were #1 two times and screwed up both times and shouldnt have had another chance, yet still got into thechampionship game by default

OSU backed in to the title game because they lost late and dropped in the rankings to #6, but everybody ahead of them lost and they got into the championshipby default

so both teams backed in to the title game
 
The two 2 were picked from not only a deserving standpoint but from a financial stanpoint!

Both of these two 2 teams have some of the biggest fanbases in college football.

USC couldn't be matched up against the OSU because the Rose bowl people would be pissed off!

OSU vs. Georgia would not has been as marketable!

I'm not even bashing the Big Ten. It is no secret that it was a down year for the Big Ten. Ohio State is not the best team in the nation, they are a top 5 team, but not the best team. Backing in means they were #5 when their season ended and moved up the rankings based on other teams losing. At least, LSU played, losing one game in triple OT.

I see your point but what I'm saying is that you can't penalize a team and bash them for not having a conference championship and endingtheir season early.
 
So here is the problem i have with the matchups this year. If Ohio St. beats LSU and USC beats Illinois, especially if it is one sided then we are stuck in thesame position as we were in 2003.
That is USC and our fans feeling like we are the best team in the country and could lead to another split NC. There will be nobody that could tell us otherwiseeither.

Everyone wants to keep pointing out USC's loss to stanford but i have heard hardly anyone complain about how both LSU and OSU lost their 2nd to the lastgames of their seasons at home no less. All the while SC pummels Arizona St, which even with the loss to USC is still ranked higher then both Illinois andArkansas at the end of the year.

SC's resume obviously isnt perfect with 2 losses but neither is LSU with 2 losses and let me remind everyone that when USC lost to Oregon not only were weinjured but Oregon was playing the best football in the country bar none. They would have cruised into the NC game no questions asked had Dixon not gone down.
 
^what does that have to do with the game OSU and LSU will be playing on January 7th?

i'm seriously about to ignore you if i can figure out how to do it, stop posting that USC garbage everywhere, almost as dumb as losing to stanford

and for those USC fans who are going to quote this and say our QB was hurt or blah blah or that we keep hearing about stanford and thats all u can say.. wellas an Ohio State fan im also getting tired of getting hearing the stuff about how were going to get beat again, and blah blah.. this is a OSU vs LSU Thread,lets atleast keep it on topic...if i recall there are about 5 other threads about the BCS, go rant in there....

sorry but usc couldnt get the whole big 10 on their schedule sprinkled in with some jv hs teams from ohio as their ooc games.

again i dont really care that we didnt make it to the mnc game but osu cakewalked into the championship.
 
Really look at the teams USC played. Not much there. Played three teams with winning records, went 2-1. Ohio State was 5-1 against teams with winning records.

playing for a national title with little respect is better than earning a ton of respect on the way to the Alamo Bowl.

It's not like LSU and Oklahoma and USC lost to great teams. Maybe they have good wins, but LSU losing to Kentucky and Arkansas is like Ohio State losing to Michigan State and Penn State. Oklahoma losing to Colorado and Texas Tech is like Ohio State losing to Northwestern and Purdue. USC losing to Stanford and West Virginia losing to Pitt is like Ohio State losing to Minnesota.

The only top teams will all "good losses" are Virginia Tech, losing to LSU and Boston College; Missouri, losing twice to Oklahoma; Arizona State, losing to USC and Oregon with Dennis Dixon; and Kansas, which played a worse schedule than Ohio State, losing to Missouri.

But it's the ridiculous upsets against mediocre competition that did in so many teams. Once you lose to Stanford or Colorado, it's hard to mount a compelling argument about "deserving" anything.

No buddy, Big Ten is better. Look at the records, i know we have Minnesota, but we have more teams have .500 or better.

It was a down year for the big ten, and a good year for the Pac... Pac teams beat eachother up, which points to the strength of their conference.

Well too be honest if you look at the Conference Standings that aerdel posted, the same thing can be said for the Big Ten. I'm not trying to sit here andargue The Big Ten is as good or dominate as it once was but when you look at the numbers, which is the only way to get real proof, the Big 10 beats up on eachother more then the Pac does. The Big 10 has Ohio State, Wisconsin, Penn State, Indiana, Michigan State, and Purdue who only lost to Conference opponents.While the Pac 10 has Arizona State, USC, and Cal. I don't know it looks to me like if anyone has an argument for beating up on each other it might be theBig 10.

I don't like USC as much as the next guy... but i was just stating that the pac 10 this year is much stronger than the big ten.

For all OSU fans thinkin im salty, hell no brutha OSU deserves to be in the title game. USC lost to stanford, they do not deserve to be there at all.

ya, I wasn't targeting you specifically.

Just cats in here saying OSU doesn't deserve s**t cuz they didn't play anyone. This was the oddest CFB season in years. Nobody deserves anythingbesides Hawaii I guess.
 
whats there to argue? osu didnt play anyone this year. you can argue if they deserve to play in the bcs title game or not but fact is they backed into the mncgame with their schedule. ou has a better argument for being in that game than osu does.
