2nd best Designer behind Tinker Hatfield? Opinions?

Avar and Tinker are equal in my mind.

Avar is probably # 1 due to the amount of faliures Tinker has designed.

Anybody want to just start llisting shoes all these diff designers have made? I'll compile the list if you post the info.

It's scattered throughout this thread.

Can anybody list the designers of all Lebron's signature shoes?

For real.

What would you think of if Jordan Brand had a few designers/deveopers working on just straight innovation.. kinda like an IK for Jordan Brand, but just areally small group?

I'd suggest the best thing may be to order the list by the designers name, then what they've designed... at least to start off with(?)

Does every Nike designer keep the patents for their designs?...

TBH, i probably couldn't name most of Nike's designers over the years anyway.

Potentially, we could create some interesting reference material here, but it will need input from a few people
so we get it right.

Suggestions anyone?

i would like to see a list of designers and what they did as well.

i love tinker, and avar designs but i surely cannot name them all. especially when it comes to the runners.

ken link also designed some b-ball stuff i wasnt too fond of, but he did do quite a few. ( is now responsible for the new zoom vapor cleat, although it is nothis entire design as all he really did was add a swoosh or change the swoosh ) still a great cleat though.

Rockdeep, to elaborate on E.Scott Morris: he also designed the zoom vapor cleat, and responsible for the L T line, he has done A LOT over his time at nike.
he also designed the not so popular, ahead of its time " Aggro Duck " for the oregon ducks in 2002.. now this idea basically flopped, but in myopinion it was ahead of its time especially for college football. even for the " ahead " of its time oregon ducks..

Ken Link, i copied the following listing from Lrj23.com but here is a few more shoes Ken designed
LeBron: Zoom LeBron 2-6, 20.5.5, Zoom LeBron Low ST, Zoom Soldier 1-3
Kobe: Zoom Kobe 1-2, Zoom Kobe Strength, Zoom Kobe 2 Lite
Other Basketball shoes: Holistic Uptempo, Break U Down Uptempo, Air Force Powermatic (along with Eric Avar), Air Effectivity Max, Air Max Chosen, Zoom FlightTurbine, Air Flight Wings, Shox Limitless, Air Max Finisher, Shox Status, Shox Elite, Shox Explosive (it's the white and blue shoe in Link's lefthand), Air Zoom Drive(Steve Nash MVP season shoes), Shox Elevate…
of course ken designed the zoom power lebron vI, which is a love hate shoe for most.
it does seem like most do like and appreciate this design ( myself not included )

i cannot wait to see where this thread or a new one goes, i will add what i can.

BTW: Did Mark Dolce have anything to do with the Air Dolce Max (Circa 2002) or is that just pure coincidence?

...and does anyone know who designed the Air Max2 CB.? .. that's bugged me for years.

appreciate that list above, i know alot of time and effort went into it.

should we start a new thread and maybe have everything on the 1st page, and have a mod update it all on the 1st page?

i do not want to see a bunch of 1 word responses or just quoting in a thread like this.

who did the jordan xiv ?
also i was always curious who designed one of my grail shoes " the air shake ndestrukt " ?

the name is not in my head right now, who was the original designer of the original griffey line? those are some of my favorites as well

as i grew up on these in middle school.

VI, XII, XIII
lol %%@ typa logic? take away Michael Jordan's rings and what do you have?! lol be real fam, Tinker is a beast, Avar is too, just a matter of preference imo.

your sense of thought is sooooo limited..... Smh.... So those 3 shoes you mentioned, would make Tinker the goat designers? W/o the exclusions that I mentioned... Tinker would be like Robert horry for the lakers.... Some memorable moments, and that's bout it... Some of the designers that Rock mentioned, very interesting.
pimp.gif

his original question was: take away the III, IV, V, the XI,.... what can Tinker look back at?
and i replied with the 3 pairs that i litsed. tinker can look back at those and be proud of them. that's all

who did the jordan xiv ?

tinker hatfield

^ i thought tinker did the xiv, it was missed on the extensive list above. That's why i asked.....

Typo on the XIV... i entered XV twice.

Mods have enough to do without tending to this thread... if we need to move it somewhere else, or change the format , we'll figure it out in due course.

Most people wouldn't be bothered with the list though, so it's not going to get stickied or any major recognition here.

Tinker is best in my opinion and Avar is second.

How can you guys say "take away III, IV, etc." when those are regarded as some of the best shoes ever? Also, did you guys forget about the XI? Or howabout the Air Max 1? That was Tinker. He made a lot of Nike shoes that you guys probably don't even realize. I think he did the BW also. Who started theuse of visible air bubbles?

EA is sick, no doubt about it, but Tinker is the guy who revolutionized the industry.

I guess its all preference though. Who is the best ever, Michael Jordan or Wilt?

Man, thanks for that list. I've always been curious as to who designed the shoes in the Barkley line.

Did Tinker design the Air Max 1 and Air Max 90???

Avar's going to continue to do great designs

I haven't seen Tinker do a good design since the XX3.
