So I'm watching The Godfather I & II on AMC right now and I'm just amazed yet again. I've watched these two movies over and over and never got tired of watching it. Watching it again and again you notice things you haven't seen and answers to some of the plot questions from when you've seen it the first time. They are both BRILLIANT movies and so well directed and well acted. They launched the careers of Al Pacino, James Caan, Robert Duvall, Diane Keaton, Robert De Niro and boosted the careers of countless others. The way it was adapted from the book to the big screen does it supreme justice and is hands down some of the greatest book to movies in history. I know people will say that Scarface, Goodfellas and Casino might be better, but IN MY OPINION these two are better than the others (Although, I might have to put Goodfellas as 2A).  I loved the way that Michael Corleone had to break his vow that he would never become like his father and be in the business, but in the end he was EXACTLY like his father and was born to be the boss unlike his hotheaded brother Sonny and unintelligent brother Fredo. He went from a hero character to slowly become an anti-hero and villain.

"Fredo, you're my older brother, and I love you. But don't ever take sides with anyone against the family again. Ever."

I liked the first one a lot more than the second one.

the second one was borrrring.

maybe i need to watch it again.

I loved 2 > 1. Simply because of the Prequel scenes.

But the killings of the 5 heads of the Family during the Baptism was the GREATEST.

Part III did nothing for me at all.

When Michael finds out about Fredo at the party in part 2, the way Pacino's face changes is amazing.

I got it on bluray. Looks great... its amazing how they can enhance somthing over and over you know?

Favorite two scenes are when he tells Fredo he broke his heart and when he kills the cop and boss at the restaurant... when he drops the gun

PART 2 IS THE BEST OF THEM ALL THO... YEA I SAID IT

I never get tired of watching This series.

@ how they killed Sonny.

I might be the only one that liked all 3. Part 3 wasn't a classic like the first 2 but its still a good movie.

All three are good. 3rd one was the weakest tho. The third one always chokes me up in the end

i found it interesting yet acceptable how for their godfather "marathon" rather than showing all 3, AMC decided to just show pt 2 twice

pretty obvious how they feel about it, which is in line with how some of us tend to feel about it

Depending on what day you ask me, ''The Godfather II'' is my favorite movie of all time...

...whenever someone comes out the mouth and says ''Scarface'', ''Casino'', or ''Goodfellas'' are better movies, I know I'm talking to an idiot.

I watched the first one in its entirety and was amazed by the story and performance. This movie is the truth!

I respect AMC for doing that.  Godfather III isn't as bad as some people claim, but compared to the first two it's awful.

I won't argue if someone says I > II or II > I, on any given day I'd probably switch my choice between which I like more.

lets not even bring up Part III in this thread anymore, thanks.

....aaaaaaaaanyways

i can't express how dope these movies were. i wanna say i liked Part II better because we really saw Michael come into his own as the Don.. but Part I was just so amazing.. the baptism scene literally had me like
