The Christmas tree, doesn't work with any of our forwards but Jozy
I hope its a 4-4-2 flat with Deuce and Wondo up top and Zusi in for Beckerman to play RM.... I'm assuming the defenders Portugal will have out there will be of lesser quality than Pepe and Coentrão; Wondo can maybe find some magic and if not get Johannsson in the game.

I basically had the same thing happen to me (partially torn calf muscle instead) and muscle strains are a ***** to come back from.

Looking ahead now...
Portugal is without Pepe, Coentrao, Almeida and their Goalie Patricio is out, all vital pieces of their Defense. We're without Jozy and possibly Besler. That means both coaches game plans coming into this game will have to drastically change. We played so bad yesterday that we gave Portugal nothing to study lol. On the other hand, I'm also expecting a whole different Portugal from their debut game. They are still very much alive and that thrashing they took won't mean **** if they get 6 pts their last 2 games.
My mentality: We're playing with house money. Go for the win and guarantee your spot in the round of 16. None of this "if we tie" crap. 3 pts gets us in(barring the improbable) and would make the Germany game a glorified scrimmage. Coming into the WC I actually thought Portugal was our best shot at 3 pts and Ghana would tie us. Now that we got our pts vs Ghana it is very important we don't allow Portugal to catch us on points. Every goal they score on us counts as 2 when it comes to goal differential. A 2-0 loss will make things VERY difficult come next Thursday.
The good thing is Germany and Ghana play the day before. We will have a very good idea of what our advancement scenarios are coming into the game.
