@NorthoaklandFC, my coach NEVER trained me to be anything different. During practice I was always a left back, but when we played against teams with bigger players, he would either not play me or would switch me to a midfield role where I barely ever played in my life. (Basically what Klinsmann has been doing)

It really bothers me when he says Zardes is just there to make runs and use his pace

I can understand that but my point was that psk lobbying for specializing at that age in a discussion about "good" developmental coaching is misguided and doesn't make sense.
