**Official USMNT Soccer Thread**

AGAIN......BE CLEAR THAT THE USMNT RUN CONCACAF – BE CLEAR THAT WE FATHER MEXICO. WE LET THEM STAY OUT WITH THE CAR PAST CURFEW. THEY BETTER TAKE ADVANTAGE. THEY BETTER BRING THE CAR BACK WITH A FULL TANK........... IT BETTER NOT HAVE A SCRATCH ON IT. THEY BETTER BRING THE GARBAGE BINS BACK UP THE DRIVE WAY ON THEIR WAY BACK IN TOO. IF NOT, THEY'RE GROUNDED FOR THE NEXT FOUR YEARS BECAUSE THEIR FATHER SAID SO. WE RUN YOU. BROUGHT YOU IN THIS WORLD AND DON'T EVER FORGET IT.

^ Wow, our great run this year got people thinking they can bump their chests out & bang King Kong style... Ya'll need to chill a little bit. Our run this year was great but just getting to the WC isn't half the battle. The battle hasn't even started yet until the first match of the WC next summer.

El Tri should be fine. Mexico has enough veteran talent along with enough young players to come right back however it will take a solid manager to pick the right side & get them to play football the right way which they haven't done this year for whatever reason. Not sure if Vucetich is the right guy. On paper he look fine but he seems like a safe choice for the Mexican FA to make. We'll see. El Tri is not far from jumping right back into being World Class even if they don't make the WC...

We US fans should enjoy this while it lasts.

Edit - I'm amazed at what I've seen from noob Aron Johannsson. I've never been a fan of saying there's a break in period for new players in most sporting situations. Either you got it or you don't. The moment Aron came in, he showed some skill & ability. He finally broke through last night in brilliant fashion under a pressure filled situation. I know it's young into his USNT career but I could see big things coming from him especially the way he's jumped in without hesitation feet first.

People wont remember your Hex run if you bomb out of the WC. Same goes for Mexico but they dont want to remember this terrible WCQ.

Gracias gringos

 well obviously. Worry about New Zealand bc this will be for naught if y'all continue this run of futility and an inability to break down bunkers and score. Better pray for Vela

US soccer put up game highlights. Check out what led to the second Panama goal... Castillo is playing off the ball so far allowing to create or score... Get up on the man for goodness sakes, close the gap & get that ball away from him... Why do our defenders continue to allow space for attack like that despite whoever is back there?

teams just bunkered down against us and our stubborn (fired) coach wouldnt change his tactics. i have faith with Vucetich and expect to win against NZ. If not, then we should disband Mexico haha.

I'm assuming you're talking to me.

I don't need to chill. That rant had NOTHING to do w/ our run this year or moving forward to Brazil. That rant had everything to do w/ Mexico and how we saved their ***** to spite all their ******** through the years. They chant pro-Bin Laden chants, they throw bags or piss, batteries and coins at our players. They throw lit flares at our supporters. They just KNEW it was their "golden generation" and look what happened. We had to save their *****. They should be grateful. You know good and damn well if the shoe was on the other foot they would've packed the back and not even tried to score to eliminate us; that's not how we roll though, that's not the American way. We saved their ***** and they need not ever forget it. We DO run CONCACAF - we have for the past 3 cycles. I'm not "enjoying it while it last." I don't give a **** about Mexico and neither should our supporters. I give a **** about the USMNT - simple. Do I respect them as our neighbors and our rivals? Of course but I do not in the least bit feel sorry for a side that could only win 1 match in the Hex. They should enjoy playing 2 more matches while it last. Christmas came early for the El Tri.

*pardon me, 2 wins

With that being said.

I'm looking forward to these friendlies and building on the momentum of winning the GC, winning the hex and having the longest winning streak in federation history.

Still a long way to go to reach what we're trying to do. :pimp:

I understand the hate people have for El Tri & it's supporters. My perspective is different though. I had a Mexican family that lived next door to me in the 80s. We were really close with the family before they moved away. My brother & I were there all day during the summers playing with their boys. The father was a huge El Tri & Los Azulcremas fan.

I'm interested in the friendlies too. I wanna see who JK chooses to play. I hope he mixes it up & plays a lot of the young guys. I like what I've seen from Aron Johannsson. I've always hated when it's said it takes time for a player to gel. The minute he stepped onto the pitch with the US shield on, you could tell this kid could play & that strike he had last night was fire especially considering the circumstances.

Like I said though, the journey doesn't begin until the WC next year. I think this team will likely go further than we ever have. I've never seen the US play like this. We've won in every way imaginable. It's like night & day since JK took over.

Edit - Heard Grant Wahl say US will remain ranked 13th when FIFA releases it's ranking tomorrow. He also reported that JK will meet with the 20-25 other top coaches after the draw to schedule friendlies for early spring '14. They're waiting until after the draw to schedule friendlies with teams that play similar styles to the teams they'll be matched up with...

For what its worth, when I grew up in Indy, Texas, even Sac when I first got here as a kid, the majority of my friends were Mexican.

And I still hate El Tri and their fans.

I'm Mexican American, first person on either side of my families to be born here in the state's. I look more Mexican than natives...
and it's still **** their fans and team.

Report: Jurgen Klinsmann linked with Switzerland job after World Cup 2014
Joe Prince-Wright Nov 6, 2013, 7:20 AM EST

So, it’s basically common knowledge that Jurgen Klinsmann’s contract with U.S. soccer runs out after next year’s World Cup… but then what?

With the USA impressing and having soared up the FIFA World rankings during the German’s time in charge, he’s a wanted man.

Reports out of Switzerland this week suggest Klinsi is being lined up to take over from current Swiss national team boss Ottmar Hitzfeld, who will be retiring from his illustrious coaching career after the World Cup, after Switzerland qualified comfortably and are expected to be among the top seeds for next summer’s tournament in Brazil.

Can we believe these rumors?

For me, they’re not that far-fetched. Klinsmann’s three-year tenure with the U.S. national team will ultimately come down to his sides performance at the World Cup next summer. If he succeeds and the USA make it to the quarterfinals or better, then expect a new contract to come his way. But whether or not he accepts it, we will have to wait and see.

However, even though the whole “Switzerland interested in Klinsmann” rumors have been circulating rapidly, let’s not forget that Klinsmann is settled in California, is extremely happy living in the USA and in my opinion unless things go disastrously at the World Cup, he should lead the USMNT for an extremely long time.

These reports, rumors, whispers are testament to the job Klinsmann and his staff have done to turn around the fortunes of the USA and help put them in the best possible position ahead of World Cup 2014. The fact that one of Europe’s best organized countries and a nation that’s currently punching well above it’s weight in international soccer is interested in Klinsmann, is credit to him and the USA. The Swiss FA want to keep their incredible upward spiral continuing, and appreciate the impressive rebuild the former German World Cup winner has performed with the Yanks.

The job Klinsmann has done, despite the doubters to start with, has been lauded across the globe. That’s why the Swiss want him to carry on Hitzfeld’s good work.

After next summer, will it be a case of stick or twist or USA vs. Switzerland for Klinsmann?

I hope not. I posted earlier that he should be at the helm for the next cycle to regardless of result in next summer's WC.

I want him to take the technical director job, he has the men playing beautiful, now we gotta start grooming the youngsters to play the same.
