**Official USMNT Soccer Thread**

Fellas:

What can I say? I have not seen the team ever played this bad. I am feed up with Bradley and players not deserving to wear the crest. I hope we tank against the Reggae boyz just to get BB fired. I know it sounds bad, but its the damm truth. We need change, and we need it now. Nice Gol by Alti-goal, but we need more of this from him. JJ played like the player I seen in Europe. He need to be intune every game.

This was pretty embarrassing. US barely beat a small former French colony with 400 thousand people.... pathetic. No more saying the USA is too good for concacaf.

Its not as bad as it looks..... Just like the game against Panama the US squad missed alot of open looks.... You can't blame Bradley for the players not finishing...

^^^ I agree with you, but who picks the players? I am not sure, but I think BB does, since he is the coach. This team showed no pelotas tonight. Lackluster performance against a team that is not that good, on your home soil. No excuses. BB needs to go.

Nah it's pretty bad bro. I haven't seen you guys play this bad in a long time. You guys are lacking hustle, determination, and heart. They just seem like robots out there, playing just to play, and not playing with any heart which is what you need when representing your country. You guys are not dominating against teams you guys should easily dominate. Teams that have no business giving you guys a run for your money are giving you guys trouble. It's pretty bad from a neutral point of view. And that's not even pointing out the fact you guys are playing at home.

when it has mattered, Bob gets results.
Ehh I don't know how much you can look at just the results. The way the results came about should say something as well.
-2010 WC qualifying wasn't the best. (We Qualified, what else matters?) Process vs results.

-Advanced in 09 Confed Cup due to luck/coincidence IIRC
(We beat Egypt 3-0, Italy lost to Brazil 3-0 - was that luck? Yes. But we HAD to win by 3 goals...and did - that's not luck)  It just always seems that in a tournament we always have to hope

and pray for another team to help us out. It seems that we never control the situation, and when we do we lose and then have to hope that another team loses so we can move on to the next

round. I believe we went 2-3 in that tournament.

-WC 2010 gave up early goals in i wanna say 3 outta 4 games they played, and this also happened throughout WC qualifiers as well.  It seems BB never had his team prepared to come out and play from the jump. So aggravating.
(True...and that's very frustrating and reflects on a lot of issues, not just coaching....but we WON our group...again..what else matters??) Yeah we won the group due to a
horrific blunder by England's goalkeeper. Then what happened in the round of 16, we had a terrific draw but played like baby poo against Ghana. It starts with the coach.

-His squad selections and game day team selections alone should have him on the hot seat. How in the world does he expect his team to have any possession

at all when he constantly puts what seems to be 2 defensive mids in the center midfield. Players (Torres comes to mind) get pulled after playing 1 good game then 1 half of a bad game and then don't see them again while players like klejistan and bornstein continually get called up and playing time when they do absolutely nothing positive on the field.

(I take it you didn't see how bad Torres was in our 2nd WC game vs. Slovina? He looked awful. Should he still be called in? Yes, but let's not pretend like he's the answer. I'll take Holden, Benny, Jones, Edu, and Mix all over Torres. I can't stand Bornstien and I won't defend him, he shouldn't be on the Nats. The only "fireable" offensive roster wise I've seen Bob make is continually starting Rico Clark...it still pisses me off just thinking about it.) So Torres was bad against Slovenia, I happen to think he was ok and say MB left him out to dry. But he got yanked after 45 minutes. In the little that I have seen him play with the USMNT he's been one of the few guys who was able to be confident on the ball allowing us to keep possesion. How do we know he's not the answer he's been given no chance. The

fact that Ricardo Clark continued to start and play heavy minutes when his play was GODAWFUL says it all. God forbid BB let others play besides his son and see how that works out.

-He continues in failing to make in game changes when it's obviously necessary and the tactics of the US team leave alot to be desired. Hmmmm lets see. Launch

a 40-60 yard pass in the air hope a forward beats the 2 people that are on him or gets fouled so that Landon can take a free kick and hopefully we can score on a header

or a loose ball situation where someone pokes it in. It seems that that is how at least 80% of the US goals are scored. (That's not true...usually as the game goes on and we need a goal (which happens often) he'll move Clint up and bring on an extra "attackin" mid see Benny during the WC)

That seems to be the only move BB knows how to make. IMO he makes the moves to late and with the wrong personnel. Like instead of subbing around the 60th-65th minute he will wait until

the 70th-75th minute which doesn't allow for the incoming subs to make any kind of mark on the match.

Either way I just wanna see the USMNT start to play better and I just can't see that happening with BB at the helm.

1-0. us is lucky were not playing any central american/mexican team next round or we'd be toast the way were playing.

He has done a great job no doubt. I just don't want this team taking a step backwards like did with Bruce Arena.

I think change is needed no matter what. Players get tired hearing the same crap.

Exactly! I hope Bradley gets canned after this even if we win. I don't want to waste Donovan, Dempsey, etc last WC with this bozo in charge. We have fallen back so much since last year.

You're acting like there's some secret treasure trove of players out there that BB, his staff, and scouts don't know about. No matter who's coaching the team, the player pool is the player pool.

As much as I don't like Bradley I have to agree.  The talent pool is better than it used to be but it's just not that great.

the problem is that they are looking at closed off private pools instead of the whole ocean

This is why I want Klinnsman to take over USA soccer.  There needs to be a fundamental change in how our young players are trained and I think Klinnsman with the right subordinates could lead us in a better direction.

Do you think Wondo is the best possible striker we have? NO........GOMEZ, Buddle, heck I will even take a 70% Healthy Davies instead of this stiff.
Do you think Borstein is one of the best possible LB we can have? NO.... Lichaj, Castillo, Spector, Orozco  heck even Hejduk is better then this guy.

I know the talent pool is not that deep, But surely there are some players that BB does not called up? Why is Gringo Torres not being called up? I know he had a horrible half against Slovenia, but duke deserves another shot. Adu? Yeah he was hyped to begin with, but I finally think is is maturing and can contribute to the program. He brings him in to this roster  to sit him? Why? because his son cant take a day off? MB is solid, but not that great. Only people that should have their spot lock is TIMMY, LD, DEUCE, JJ AND to an extent Alti-goal.

The younger generation is coming. I see it already. LLEGET, JEROME, GYAU, BOSS. Cant wait til JURGEN  gets the to run  the ship. Dude would bring so much to the program.

Win or Lose, USA til the casket drops. Always rep the crest!

I agree whole-heartedly, however, no one man can come in, snap his fingers and then change the entire dynamic of soccer state-side. And listen, don't get me wrong - I'm ALL FOR Bob getting fired if we don't win the Gold Cup. However, if he continues to get results (which he's done), I don't see a reason for him to go anywhere.

C'mon man, I already addressed that in my initial post - of course we should've included Gomez (jury's still out on Buddle) over Wondo....and don't get me started on John Bornstein's bum-$@%.

And again. Torres would be super-low on our CM depth chart...I'd take MB, Jones, Edu, Bennny F, and Mix all over him...so why include him?

And I'm sorry but MB is CLEARLY the best CM we have. It boggles my mind how people still can't see this.

Agreed! we should have called up Herculez.

Report: Dempsey, Donovan missing Gold Cup training to attend family weddings

Both of their sisters are getting married.

"Landon Donovan and Clint Dempsey will be major keys to the U.S. national team's chances of beating Jamaica in Sunday's CONCACAF Gold Cup quarterfinals, but both will be missing preparations for that match to attend family weddings.

As first reported by the Washington Post, Donovan and Dempsey will be traveling to California and Texas respectively to attend weddings for their sisters. Both players will miss Friday and Saturday training sessions, though only the Friday session is considered an intense training session.

Both Donovan and Dempsey struggled in the U.S. team's 1-0 win vs. Guadeloupe on Tuesday. If the United States had finished in third place in Group C, and the United States had been forced to play a Saturday quarterfinal, both Donovan and Dempsey would have missed their family weddings, but now both will attend Saturday weddings and fly to Washington D.C. on Saturday night. The United States takes on Jamaica on Sunday at 3pm at RFK Stadium.

What do you think of this development?"

I don't understand why they couldn't get married in July.

They have to remember it's about Landon and Clint not them.

Maybe it helps them get more motivated.
