**Official USMNT Soccer Thread**

So last World Cup a few of us met up at the ESPN Zone in LA to watch the games and it was poppin. Just wondering if any of you socal NTers would be interested in catching a game out here or know of a good spot this year to watch the games?

Im down... i been looking for place to meet up with other USMNT fans and watch the game together.

couple pics from the game last night, atmosphere was good as mentioned previously. First time in Jacksonville, only been in FL for a little over a month now.

had to DVR the game. just about done watching.

- loved what i saw from the back four of beasley, cameron, besler, and fabian. very nice.
- liked the move to try something different than the diamond and use jones and beckerman together. really looked like it gave bradley some more freedom. jones looked more confident as well.
- good to see jozy break through. the first goal was a bunny, but the second goal really has to give him some confidence going into brazil. beautiful touch, beautiful job creating space, and just a 100% confident finish
- timmy saw a couple challenging chances and did well to stop them
- agree with what was said above by a couple of you. really like what zusi and mix bring to this team off the bench

I know he scored twice today but why exactly is Altidore a lock to start in Brazil? I mean all my US nat team friends and the media were all happy he scored after 23 games with no goals. They were acting like I was when my son learned to walk. Why does Altidore get so much latitude but Wondo and Johanssen get non. Both guys have scored way more goals and have done it with less minutes on the field. My buddy who roots for Saunderland tells me that Altidore sucks. I kind of agree. I thought he was done on the US team since I didnt see him in qualifications plus he didnt score in South africa from what I remember. Anyway just wanted to understand Klinsman reasoning and you all opinion.

Missed this one on their page... The USMNT enjoying some time at TCP Sawgrass... Epic fail by Wondo.... Got damn that looked awful...

Ghana won 4-0 today.

They're gonna be tougher to beat than Portugal

We're due man. We will beat either Ghana or Portugal. It might not get us out of the group but I guarantee you USA will not go home with 0 points and Germany won't get out with 9. As "predictable" as the group stage looks on paper it NEVER goes exactly as people planned unless there was a clear favorite and 3 minnows. Thats why the play the games.

I'm optimistic with our team and really believe we have a good shot to advance. Other countries constantly praise our mentality and sportsmanship and I think thats what separates us from other national teams that are better skilled. Word to 02 WC. and 09 confederations.

BTW here is a link to a Ghana fan forum. Very interesting take on their NT and the US team.

Some are worried and other think they're gonna destroy us. Looks like their defense was worrisome today in their 4-0 win over Korea. Overall they are not confident going into our game next week.

100% with this. i feel good heading into this party. could i feel even better? of course. but i feel good about our shot at getting to the KO round

Predictions for the games in the group:

USA 2 Ghana 1

USA 2 Portugal 1

USA 1 Germany 1

hopefully 7 points is enough to get us to the second round...:smoking :smoking :smoking :smoking
