**Official USMNT Soccer Thread**

The reason I'm so hard on Jozy is because he is one of the most talented forwards that's come through the American system is sometime. I do hold out hope for him that more time in Europe will improve his maturity.

i think at this point Jozy is receiving a lot of unfair criticism. i know some people are still disappointed in his poor season w/ Hull City but he simply didn't play that bad in these last four matches.

he had his moments throughout the tournament, he did struggle with consistency and seemed to disappear at times but like i said in the WC thread i really think a lot of that had to do with his partner Findley up top and a lack of service he received from the rest of the squad.

He and Findley had absolutely zero chemistry, i'm not sure they linked up consecutively one time they entire tournament. Donavan aside, our entire team didn't look like they knew how to properly connect with our forwards, a tactical fault of the training staff not Jozy.

Jozy's biggest issue right now is he needs to learn his own identity. he needs to figure out what type of striker he wants to be and go out there and perform night in and night out and elevate his confidence. unfortunately the USMNT's strategy for getting Jozy the ball takes the ridiculously wrong approach.

he does have outstanding skill on the ball and he showed this tournament that when he receives the ball at his feet he has the abilities to make plays and attack goal at the highest level but what do his teammates do? instead they continuously provide him with long balls sent in through the air from outside our attacking third, hope he heads it down to an accompanying teammate, pray for a shot on goal, repeat. Jozy's shares the fault when it comes to his inability to score goals and ineffectiveness this tournament with the entire team as well with Bob Bradley.

As someone else said, he is only 20 and younger than most of us posting in this thread. the speed, the power, the skill, he already has all these things, which leads to high expectations, but the intelligence, the killer instinct, the consistency, those things will come with time. not to mention more competent support from his teammates will aid with the latter as well.

Thanks for breaking down the prices amaru. im contemplating trying to make the trip down to brazil, but it all depends on how much its gonna cost me.
as far as game tix, those pretty expensive or not too much over face value?

We had a good run.

Still don't understand having Ricardo Clark saw the pitch.

That's what's most disappointing....our best team was not on the pitch.

I agree 100%. Dude has a lot of maturing to do physically and mentaly. Imo, its just a matter of time, before he develop into a World-class striker.

Here is the team I imagine for 2014. Hopefully we don't let this thread die, so we can see how accurate I was

.
my friend literally threw his beer up in the air when they showed the lineup and he saw clarks name. he was livid.

i don't get it either...led to us wasting an early sub too

Everton and Man city have reached out to the galaxy for Landon.

the only changes I see for the next cycle are the 2 cb and lb.

opara, boss, and omar gonzalez are going to be the future at cb.

hopefully Jermain Jones get healthy again.

if he wants to win trophies i say landon goes to man city

if he wants to get playing time i say he should go with everton

if he goes to man city you best believe im a get a man city (my favorite english premier side) jersey with his #

It's just after keeping up with the EPL since 03, it's irritating seeing the pace of the game here in the states.

I mean hell, HDC isn't further than a 10 minute drive up Del Amo and Avalon

you let me know if you want to see a game.

Definitely bro, the more i've been thinking about it i'm wasting an opportunity having the local team so close to me.

Eddie Johnson and Aris from the greece league appear to have signed a 2 yr contract.

FULHAM plan to ease the pressure on goal machine Bobby Zamora by signing Edson Buddle from LA Galaxy

http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/world_cup/858881/FULHAM-PLAN-MOVE-FOR-BUDDLE.html

Donovan might of got an english breezy prego.

"I was informed of the possibility during the World Cup, and if I need to take responsibility, then I will provide the appropriate support," Donovan told SI.com. "This is a private matter and I will refrain from further comment at this time."

^^^^ We shall see what happens. I used to be on the ANTI-BOB wagon, but he earn some of my respect in this tournament. I would not mind if he does come back, but I want USSF to give the reigns to JURGEN. I know duke can make our team a better one. He lives down the street in Newport Beach, so I know he would be down. Its just a matter of USSF giving him the power.

Agreed 100%

You end up going to the ESPNzone man?

jurgen would be an upgrade no doubt. bradley has been good, but just some of the personnel decisions, i don't get. i'm sure he has his reasons though

Roy Hodgson

i wonder if he goes to Liverpool though, if that changes the run of Americans brought into the side..because he certainly has given them a chance

where you sit at?

I love Bob's intensity, enthuesaim, leadership, game preperation, focus, and will to win.

But when 300,000 people know that Rico Clark and Robbie Findley shouldn't have been on the pitch. Why the hell does the coach not know that??!!
