**Official USMNT Soccer Thread**

Bedoya has more of a shot than Adu at this point. He's just flat out played more than Adu over the last year and is sharper. Plus Bob has it out for Freddy, and this dates back to the residency days. Not the first time Freddy has shot himself in the foot.

i honestly thought that omar gonzalez should have had a shot at the defense. was watching this dude this past season with the galaxy and i do see a bright future in this cat.

if things go according as planned, imma be chillin and going to Galaxy practices this summer with him.

but he still has to work on his game, he was suppose to go to villalodid or osasuna (cant remeber which) to practice during the off season.

He's not playing in the middle over Marshall, Demerit, Gooch, Goodsen, or Bocanegra. He'll Parkhurst would get more of a serious look than Omar right now. He'll get his shot in 2014. Not right now though.

Sacha should definitely not go...dude did nothing last year in the MLS and has looked pretty crappy in most of the opportunities Bradley has give him. I think, unless J. Jones makes a miraculous recovery, Edu and Bradley will be starting in the middle. They both play box to box and Bradley loves that style. Davies will be healthy by then, who knows what form he will be in though. If Davies isnt recovered/not in good form I would expect Dempsey to move up top, in a similar position he plays for Fulham, with Holden sliding to outside mid. He played very very well in his Bolton debut the other day. As far as defense, a big question is left back. It will probably be Bornstein, but Pearce was one of the few bright spots against Honduras and if he continues to play like that then he will definitely have a shot. If Cherundolo makes it back in time to fill in the right back position, Spector may slide over to left back. I expect Gooch to in the center, with either Bocanegra or DeMerit pairing up with him. Probably Bocanegra. Thats it as far as the starting lineup. Alot of bubble players, however, and it's difficult to tell who stands where with the amount of call ups Bradley gives out. I can't ##$%!$! wait though.

NO SACHA! PLEASE!

And i would rather have Dempsey roam behind Jozy, seeing how he ends up there anyways

I think we should run Dempsey behind Jozy, assuming Charlie really isn't ready.

If he is somehow back, him and Jozy up top.

My Dad is in Amsterdam and going to the game tomorrow...lucky *!%@@#+%***$

I ask him if he was gonna be high and he just laughed

I wouldn't start Charlie off the bat if he makes the squad. He's not going to have the legs to go the full 90 so I'd rather bring him on at the half or the 60th minute so he's fresh and can run at tired defenders.

If not Charlie then maybe Findley or Cunningham, just somebody who has the nuts to go at people and run their tail off. I could also see Cooper filling this role as well. We dont need two forwards though, because our forwards don't know how to play off of one another.

let's just play a 4-2-3-1

edu and mike play defmids
landy, clint, and beas/ holden in the middle
jozy up front

Cooper and Cunningham have been terrible in their recent USMNT caps, and Cooper's not seeing any time on the field for his club. That, and he doesn't run to begin with. Findley is a speed option, but his touch is much too heavy. I would assume Eddie Johnson would sneak onto the roster before any of those bums. Bradley loves target forwards since we play longball, so look for Ching or Casey to make the squad. Hope neither do, however.

can't believe i missed this thread, checking in

im on the keep sacha out bandwagon. can't stand that dude. ching will be in for sure, maybe even casey. all depends on how our forward situation plays out. hopefully davies has a full recovery but i'm not banking on it.

can't wait for the game tomorrow. i have class so idk if i'll be able to watch since i skipped class yesterday. will check back into this thread soon.

I don't watch the Mexican league but I have been tracking his progress and he is scoring left and right at the moment...definitely should warrant a call up from Bob, especially with how many caps he throws out to random players. I definitely support a call up for him, seeing as how I definitely do not want to see Ching or Casey there.

The biggest surprise was the news that Jermaine Jones was with the team. Jones drove up from Germany to meet up with the team and spent Tuesday with the squad. He could be seen around the team hotel in his U.S. national team gear in what has to be seen as a sign that Bradley is keeping the door open for the Schalke 04 midfielder if he can get back on the field and back to his stellar pre-injury form.

if he gets somewhat healthy, he is going to South Africa.

Regardless of Cunninghams, Findleys, or Coopers play at the international level, they're all we have at this point. Eddie Johnson? Talk about blowing your load way too early. We have a better finishing, harder working version of him in Jozy, minus the speed. I'd rather see Conor Casey, or any of the other 3 forwards listed than Eddie. Hell, throw Dempsey or Landon up top and put Stu or Robbie Rogers on the wing. Landon and Dempsey are our best attackers/forwards outside of Jozy, which speaks volumes about our pool of forwards.

Herculez Gomez did pretty well in his time here with LA too. Dude was a big part of our 05 championship. Was sad to see him leave. I remember when he signed my jersey, dude was cool as hell. I wouldn't mind seeing him get called up just to see what he's got now. He's playing with Puebla now right?
