Guzan is about equal to Howard in my eyes. No drop off at all there. I honestly don't see Timmy getting the starting job back but I'm sure he's ok with that possibility.

Johnson has surpassed Hamid for me but the two of them seem to trade off each year.

Blows my mind how young both Johnson and Hamid are, I feel like they've been around for forever now.

I could honestly see Howard just not coming back at all, would not surprise me one bit tbh.

Man seeing these kids do great in soccer made me grab a pair of cleats and get back to playing lol, hopefully i make my colleges squad, it's always good to see american soccer players prospering

Hopefully T Boyd comes back stronger than ever from his partially torn ACL.

Love the kid's promise and potential.

Kinda surprised there are some North American based players called up for this..

Who is Jordan Morris?

I am strangely intrigued by all the young newcomers

Brek Shea needs to figure his **** out.

I hope Ream gets a good long look in this match.

Jurgen luv da kids.

But, seriously, good time to check out the young guys in Europe. We don't have many dudes left over there to start and most of the known dudes (Aron, Boyd, D. Williams, etc.) are hurt.

Great going forward (not to the Belgium level, tho. That was a once in a lifetime moment), can be had on defense. More down to positioning now, he's become a much better 1-on-1 defender this year.

Thanks, DLo. Can he handle the rigors of the EPL? Pace is not the issue, more speed of play and physicality.

Yeah, I think he'd be ok with the speed/strength issues. Still learning to play defense (dude was a winger until 2 years ago).
He won't get it immediately, but he'd do well under a dude like Pochettino as opposed to a Redknapp type. Still don't see how he unseats Walker in the near term, tho.

My thought is Yedlin is best-served in a role similar to Danny Rose. Deputizing as a RM in cup fixtures of low-level league matches. Playing in front of and learning from Walker. Who has pace but also defensive responsibility.

Damn, couldn't get in here soon enough... My son & his team had an extra long practice this evening. Season starts the following weekend & coach didn't want to schedule any scrimmages this weekend since we just had a tournament last weekend.

I knew if I didn't post that info, rck3sactown rck3sactown would. Good ish rck! Glad to see Klinsmann trying out the youngsters to see what they have. It's early enough in the process that it's worth giving them this opportunity although I'd have to agree with rck in that Shea shouldn't get another shot. He's pretty much washed up at this point to me.

Can't wait to see how these guys play...

BTW, my son's team (Starz Soccer Club) made it to the championship game in a tournament in Gettysburg last weekend. Coach had my son man marking the other team's best player for every game & he did a great job of digging in that ***. Despite that role, my son had a goal & 3 assists.

We ended up losing because our boys were gassed. We only had 10 boys able to play because 2 were out of town on vacation so we had very little in the way of subs. You could see the energy level drop in the last 15 mins as they other team scored 2 more goals. They were able to sub 4 players at a team (they had 13 players).

Proud of the boys though because they played great the whole weekend. We ended up tying for 2nd place with our arch rival...

My boys team had a similar situation couple weeks ago at a 3 day tourney. Only had 8 kids all tourny and in one of the games our striker and goalie got hurt at the same time, had to play with 6 kids for 10min. They still ended up winning the game 5-1. Lost in the finals 2-1, team was gassed and the damn ball wouldn't go in lol.
