**Official USMNT Soccer Thread**

As I've been saying for a while now, sit Dempsey and let Wood slide into his natural position at CF. Sit Bedoya or Jones and start Nagbe.
I agree Wood shouldn't be on the wing but I feel the same way about Zardes too. I feel like both of them would do better not having to play as wingers. Maybe we could benefit from a formation with Wood and Zardes as a striking partnership in something like a 4-3-1-2. But that formation could be to defensive and would shake up where other players could be better too I don't know I'm just kind of thinking out loud right now

A lot of Bay Area homies in here, super late notice but Colombian National Team starts training in 20 minutes at Los Positas College in Livermore if anyone is in the area. Not specifically open to the public but there's no security.

They should be on the field for the next two hours. Second hour will be the guys who didn't play last night in a training match vs. Las Positas men's team.

Hopefully Costa Rica lose to Paraguay tonight, or better yet they get a 0-0 draw. Make things a little easier for us in the next game

They should put nagbe, bardley and Johnson in the midfield next game with Castillo playing LB. I'm starting to think bedoya is straight trash. Hopefully bardley will show up. I would also have Dempsey come off the bench.

Is a bad South American team a top concacaf team ?

No. Bad CONMEBOL teams are Bolivia and Venezuela.

Paraguay isn't very good either but are generally organized defensively and somewhat respectable.

Peru has been bad lately but have always had talented players, and they are a ***** for anyone in the world to play at home.

Middle of the pack SA squads like Ecuador and traditionally Peru would be right in the mix with USA/Mexico for top of CONCACAF.

The rest of that federation are pretty much elite.

GUZAN

DEANDRE CAMERON BROOKS CASTILLO

MB4

NAGBE JONES

BEDOYA FABIAN

DEMPS WOOD

I'll always have a soft spot for Bedoya. I was covering the Swedish league for a website Bedoya's first year there after he left Boston College.

Really solid pro at the club level and will probably be one of the last USMNT players not be developed in the pro set up. Did it the old, hard, and thankfully soon to be extinct way, progressing from college to a successful club career in Europe.

He's just not international quality in the middle and not much more than a hard worker on the outside.

You know how JK is though, Bedoya is going no where. He don't deserve the continuous slander he's in for. :frown:

I still don't get why Johnson was LB last game.

i think it's because as a team, we have more talent in midfield than on defense. and since he can play both, they play him there so they can play some more of the midfielders while still keeping him in the lineup. that's been my understanding. i know when the roster was announced, people were all up in arms about it.

Might just cop a 'Merica shirt for prides sake.

Gotta rep. But they're not that appealing

Anyone in the South Bay going out to watch the game? Thinking about hitting up Jack's Bar in SJ after work to possibly ruin an otherwise good day (if I can finish up in the next hour)
