Don't lump me in with those tea party bastiches...

Phew, Mexico looking a lot better than when they played Honduras... US better play tough tonight...

Great win tonight. El Tri started ours with lots of energy but just collapsed. Just a terrible performance by them.

Happy for Klinnsman. People were calling for his head early on & didn't seem to see the method to his madness.

He's really put the trust in the younger players & even though there were bumps along the way, Klinnsman got the team to perform...

agree with lalas (for once) on his point about it not feeling right if mexico were to miss out. want them in the WC, and ideally would love to beat them on that stage.

Not watching any of the post game so if I'm saying the same thing as any analysts on TV, it's not intentional

But anyways, I loved the strategy Klinsmann had for this game. It wasn't our prettiest match, but to pack it in and try scoring on counters and set pieces was the right move. Usually it's the thoughtless go to move for a side that's away and/or less talented, but for Klinsmann to do this with the side that's better right now and at home was a thought out decision and plan that paid off. Mexico's main problem has been a lack of creativity so there was almost no way they were going to break us down while we packed it in, and also we got to use the fact that even though the score said we were even to start the game, the table said otherwise. Mexico really needed a result for their player+fan morale, justification of the coaching change, and mathematically for qualification. It was almost like they were 1-0 down to start the match and had to press on early.
