i think hes absolute trash...my dislike for him grows every time he takes on 3 defenders at one time and eats @#$% or takes a dumb @#$ shot that no one in his right mind would take and think it would go in. don't care about what he does overseas. for the US, he's terrible

True. He's good at moving the ball up the pitch (how sad is it that I have to praise a USMNT player for doing the most basic job of any soccer player in the world
laugh.gif
) but his finishing is usually horrendous. It basically started during the world cup; every time he got the ball, I knew EXACTLY what he was gonna do with it: charge forward and not give a single damn about any of his team mates who are running up for support. We would've had so many more chances to score if he played more calmly
.

I swear nawlinsjunkie has Jozy tapes from '09-10 on repeat

He looked noticeably better at the Gold Cup after his short stint in Turkey and to me he's looked even better these last two friendlies. It doesn't really matter because there isn't a true striker in the pool who's as close to being starting international quality besides Agudelo.

at dudes talking about sending him packing. fyi Jozy and Adu along with Shea, Chandler and Agudelo will all most likely be at the Olympics next summer. Crazy to think they're all still developing.

I will co-sign that Jozy is hot garbage and needs to go. Dude has n technical skills and only advantage is speed.

Aguadelo and Adu on the other hand have great potential. Both of them have the creativity and skills needed to play at the International level but just need more playing time

I still have hope with Jozy. I mean I can see a difference with him being in Holland. Dude is getting burn and he seems to react better to the ball. He tends to be lazy sometimes, but I can see past that if he gets in form and starts scoring for us. I watch the Belgium game, and honestly I think we played well. They were moments of course, but I can say it must be hard to play in the rain. All in all I like what Klinsy is doing, People just need to be patient, and let the players gel in his system.

So far Shea has looks great and you can tell he just needs to develop some more. He has the tools to be something special Torres is good, but I dont know if he is going to be the #10. I think there are some players like ADU, HOLDEN, GIL that might fit that mold after Donovan is done. I would like klinsy to bring in Luis GIL into a camp so he can let duke get a feeling of being on the senior national team. He is looking good at Salt Lake this season. He is a lock for the OLY team.

To say Jozy is "garbage" is quite the stretch. He does many things well that often go unnoticed. Take for example the equalizer (which ended up keeping our WC hopes alive) against Slovenia. He placed a perfectly executed header down to MB who put it in the back of the net. We don't have ANY strikers in our pool who could've done that. I whole-hardheartedly believe that for him to really shine, he needs a speedy 2nd striker (i.e. CD9). He's no where fast enough to play the lone striker role. I swear, some US supporters are so fickle and quick to hang kids out to try. I understand if dude was Buddle, Findley, or Gomez's age, but he's not. He's only 21

- and he's been scoring goals for fun so far this season for his club team. He was playin well before his injury in this year's GC as well. But now, after 3 games w/ JK and 0 goals scored, he's "trash?" F'outtahere.

What would you all want to see out of Josmer?? 2 goals every time he suits up for the Nats? Yall need to be a lil more realistic. He's faaaaaaaar from being a "world class" player - but he definitely doesn't suck. I'm willing to say he scores at least 4 goals next summer in London too. Watch.

Count me on the "Jozy doesnt suck" train. Give him a few more years. If he doesnt develop into what we think he can be by the next WC, I'll gladly say he sucks. But for now he's 21 and finally playing in a league that can help develop his striking ability.

Precisely this guy was under 21, being loaned out to different clubs and even countries. Think it would ever be comfortable
to go to Turkey at the age of 20? Look at some of the great strikers that have developed in the Eredivise

I just think they've been using Jozy the wrong way. Sending him long balls to drop back to center midfielders all game just isn't working. He's not McBride in the air. However, if that's the style they want to play, the center mids need to push forward so he's not left alone once he does he the ball with his back to the goal.
USMNT to face Ecuador at Red Bull Arena on Oct. 11
The U.S. men's national team will play its first game at Red Bull Arena on Oct. 11 when the Americans take on Ecuador in a friendly in Harrison.

The match will be the United States second match during the October international fixture window, with the Americans taking on Honduras in Miami on Oct. 8th.

The United States will be facing Ecuador for the first time since March 25, 2007, when Landon Donovan scored a hat-trick in a 3-1 USA victory.

The October friendlies are expected to feature a foreign-based roster. It remains to be seen what part MLS players will play considering MLS teams will be in the thick of the playoff stretch. November international fixture dates seem the most likely to include a full contingent of players from both MLS and Europe.

I'm convinced the people who feel so strongly against Jozy just don't have a clue. It's the only explanation.

On a slightly celebratory note, Stu Holden made his return today going 90 minutes in Bolton's 2 - 0 win over Aston Villa.

Jose Torres out for remainder of Pachuca's season. Foot surgery.

the footballing gods have something against our full first team midfield being healthy together simultaneously.
