Well just got back from my friend's house, and like everyone else, I am sad and mad at the same time. I would like to congratulate the team on a good run in this WC. effort heart and desire were the things I saw in this team. I would like to congratulate Ghana on a hell of a game. Good Luck going forward. I don't know why we had Findley starting? Did Bradley not see in the first two games that dude has pace and speed, but no scoring touch? Gomez or Buddle would have been better starting. Clark made a bad mistake in the midfield on the takeaway, but Demerit need it to close down on that play.  Donovan played good, but I don't know if its just me, but during parts of the game, he seems to go into Ghost mode, and it a while before I see him make a play or two. I like Altidore's effort today. Dude needs to improve on the scoring chances and touches he gets, but overall all I see is him getting better as he gets older. The biggest key I think was controlling the ball and midfield, but we never seem to manage to be able to do that against skilled teams. Looking forward to the future, I think Bradley should be back. The players played their a s *es off for him, and he has proven to me in this WC that he needs to be the coach for the next 4 years. LUIS, CRAFTSY, MARION, DEADSET, I know you will agree with me that future looks mad promising for us. I know your just as disappointed as me at the moment, but hey we have many things to look forward too. Brazil in 2014? Let do it!

amarus are you back from SA?
yeah just got home last night. It was nice riding that high from the Algeria game but my dreams were crushed today. We had a chance at the semis but Ghana showed a lot heart. They were strong and didn't give up. They pressured and had crazy speed. Props once again Ghana.

This team looks promising, our pool is only stronger. Our base is definitely getting stronger. There was a lot of yanks in SA.

I think the ussf is going going to keep Bradley for another team.

2014 HELL YEAH!!!!!!

This one still stings bad. 4 +%%$%*@ years man. Ahhhhh. I think only those of us who follow this team through everything understand how this feels. All the casual fans will be over it by tomorrow and won't watch for another 4 years. Well sit here and over analyze this %*+% for months to come. *$%$ I just don't feel like we went out playing to our Full potential. We were Just too tired to give Ghana a real punch.

Ps I'll use this thread as my blog to vent for the next few days lol.

hopefully this thread doesnt die. Its my favorite thread in NT.

maybe we can give each other updates of players during the season and stuff.

I am sad.

I hope ESPN starts airing more games.

Without ordering some sort of soccer package from my cable provider, is there anywhere to watch Premier League games?

Luis I fell your pain man. I was thinking we finally catch a break and just maybe go into a semi-final since 1930. We need  to give credit to Ghana, they played well, and even though people said we were the favorites, most people dont know Ghana has been winning youth tournaments the last couple of years. They will give Uruguay a run for there money, that's for damm sure. The wagon riders don't bother me, You and I know who the real fans are

We been here since the beginning and will always be here supporting this team no matter what.

Amaru:

Glad you had a great time on your trip. Post some pics of it if possible. Maybe we can all start saving some cash everyday, and head to Brazil for 2014

i thought i read somewhere that ESPN is going to double the amount of games they will show.i dunno how true that was. But its not like there is programming that cant skip on the weekends at 7 in the morning

A country lost, but a continent won today.

This was bittersweet for me. I was going for both. Not going to lie, it hurt seeing US guys crying.

But I'll definitely be going for Ghana (&Mexico) from here on out.

I have been following the U.S. soccer team on and off since the '94 world cup when I was little so idk if that makes be a bandwagon fan.

I think this loss was bad but losing to Germany in 2002 was more depressing to me. The U.S. had a legit chance in that game imo.

I'd love to see the U.S. play more like Chile

pretty depressing leaving the bar drunk at 2 o clock or whatever with your head hung low. and jozy altidore =

. looked lost out there. they deserved to lose that game if they couldnt capitalize on all those chances.

I thought they bought games from fsc or something? Should be showing more this season.

But yea on time warner cable, fsc is good for premier league games.

Yes, Altidore is garbage. He'll do something really really good and come behind that with a major %#%$ up.

This one hurt cause I don't think well ever get a favorable bracket like this one. If we want to move to the next level we need our players to start playing in bigger and better club teams and our federation has to put money into a well respected international coach and do
things domestically to improve our player pool. If we stay like this were always gonna be a mediocre team capable of giving an elite team a good game on any given day. I want us to be a good team that's guaranteed to give any team a tough game regarldess of opponent.

Pullin for mexico today as the last concacaf team but if they somehow win we won't hear the end of it til another 4 years. Dilemma!

man this one is pretty disappointing. the thought of having to wait four years to get another shot is killer.

the glaring weakness throughout the tourney was central defense imo. the gerrard goal, the slovenian goals, the ghana goals...almost all were breakdowns back there. too slow to close in on attackers. not the best communication. and apparently an inability to come out focused from the start.

donovan definitely played better than four years ago, but yesterday was just blah. jozy is not a finisher. at least not on a big stage. with findley on the team, we might as well have just went to the US track team and grabbed our best sprinter. terrible decision to start him. and i have no idea why ricardo clark opened the game yesterday.

two bright spots for me of the tourney overall were michael bradley and clint dempsey. can't wait to see how bradley continues to improve.

^^^^^^^^

your making it seem like hes 29 years old or something. Dude is really young he will be a different player four years from now.

I've been riding with USA soccer since I was 10 years old and I'm proud yet very disappointed. If someone would've told me that USA soccer would progress this much this fast I wouldn't have believed them. With that said, Jozy has all the physical tools to be so much better but his maturity just isn't there and that's what is the most disappointing thing about this World Cup. We knew the D was going to be garbage but Jozy had chances to score in every game but he just didn't get it done.

amaru, may i ask how much you spent?
$4500 with planes, safaris, 6 games, buses, car rentals, housing, alcohol. Beers were only like 2 dollars at  most bars and 3 bucks at the stadium.

The most expense part was the planes. Country was NOT ready to host the World cup. It was disorganized on game days, most individuals that were there to help did not know a damn thing.

Tickets were available for any game except the Brazil vs Ivory Coast.

Athmosphere with all the countries!

A lot damn Americans repping. What's funny is one day I'll be at the Mexico game and the next day I'll see a lot of the same cats with the US gear including me.
wink.gif

Mexico games were more fun honestly, the cheers, and the songs. The mariachi, banda recodo, and a replica of el angel.

I hated the fact that it was frezzing!!!!!

You guys should start stacking chips for 2014.

I'll post some pics for you guys when i have them uploaded.

Lets go Mexico for today's game.

that's all fine and true with jozy...but it's just disappointing given the hype. i think people expect a lot more from him, even if he's only 20. but yeah, i would expect a lot more in 2014.
