Altidore, Holden and Jones looking good. Timmy always looks good too. We should be winning this game.

2012 is looking good. I feel the Golden generation is upon us. Soon fellas, very soon. The World will not be ready lol!

No way. The golden generation is definitely not going to come from our generation. Give it another 20-25 years.

Anywhere I can watch a replay of the full game online? I had a game myself, I've just been able to tune in for the final ten minutes.

Didnt see game but just reading a little about it, is it fair to assume our Defense played the same non-aggressive, getting pushed back, not pressuring the ball game we played in the WC? Glad to see Jozy got a goal - he is still so young I just hope he remains confident bc he will be a huge asset in 4 years

not sure if i like Mo as a central defender yet, maybe after a few more reps there...he didnt do bad though

My post game analysis:

Dempsey is pure class, my favorite MNT player of the last five years.

J. Jones; pure class despite his poor clearance leading up to the equalizer. Instant starter, he runs the midfield now.

Going forward Holden is by all means one of our best players, on the defensive end of things not so much. His service on set pieces is impeccable.

Feilhaber was invisible all night up until he was replaced by Bedoya.... who was also invisible. It's a shame because I think they're both good players (particularly Feilhaber) but neither has done anything to improve their stock in a while despite tearing it up for their respective club squads this season.

Jozy was active and a handful all night. Scored on 1/3 good chances, a good night for Jozy. We have to find a way to be more efficient with our chances. Half the equation is finding a truly clinical finisher (do these exist in the US?) to pair with Jozy up top.

Gooch looked rusty. Besides his goal he was meh. IMO he needs to leave Milan and go somewhere where he's gonna play, preferably a top table French/Dutch side.

Boca, and Cherundolo to a lesser extent are aging. I doubt either is likely to be in the picture come 2014.

Lastly I LOVE the idea of Edu playing at CB. Not only are there no suitable short term candidates for the position but there are some serious benefits to having a guy with the technical ability and composure of a Maurice Edu on the back line. The past four years the fallowing have been constants when it comes to our back line; critical defensive mistakes, poor distribution, lack of composure. Edu made a few mistakes but he immediately rectified the latter two problems. I've never seen better distribution from anyone on our back line. Edu's inexperience showed but he has all the physical and mental attributes to be a very good CB both at the professional and international level. With our depth at midfield it makes no sense to have one of our best players on the bench if he's not going to be getting consistent playing time at a central mid position (even though I think Edu is better than Bradley). Whether he ever makes a permanent switch or not, a player who can play CB and Dmid is an invaluable asset.

where the heads at?

i'm excited about tonight's line up, I wanted to see Lichaj get the start at RB or LB but i'm excited to see what Brek Shea can do on this stage.

Just got home and miss the game. Anyone saw it? Give me some feedback.

I might just go watch it on ESPN3 right now.

It was pretty terrible from both sides. Little to no urgency, neither team had any interest in attacking goal, possession was non existent. Things picked up a little in the second half but it was still pretty poor.  I was expecting a lot more from Columbia.

Jones seriously lacked consistency but was still easily the best playeron the field for us. Michael Bradley sucked, he shouldn't have been outthere the second half.

IMO the only highlight was Lichaj's debut at RB in the second half. Definitely need to see more of him in the lineup.

Brek Shea started on the left wing. He looked nervous and out of place, had a moment or two where he might have shown something.

Everybody else was average or worse. One of the teams poorer performances in a long time.

I just made the mistake of watching it on ESPN3 after making a point not check the web to see the result. Really a boring game for both sides - no open play until the last 15 or so minutes - before that it was basically dominated by uncreative play in the middle third. Agree that Jones was easily the best player for US. Altidore is so frustrating to watch because I think he will be very good, but makes too many mistakes from inexperience or hubris. Agree that Lichaj was a pleasant addition to the squad. Beyond that a very forgettable game and Im sorry I wasted the time to watch it.

Let's go. Lots of young talent that could end up being the face of the NT by 2014.
I'd like to see us go 100% experimental and give guys like Agudelo, Mix, Gale/Ream, and Lichaj starts.

Agudelo is the truth. I wasn't sure if he should be brought as he's not even 18 yet  with only a handful of professional first team appearances to his resume  but since he's here, let's see what he can do. The talent is undeniable.

I dont understand how robbie findley is still in this lineup?

this guy literaly comes off the bench for real salt lake and he still manages to start in the national team.

1. Bob Bradley's babies

The American coach has included two teenagers in his 18-man squad. Striker Juan Agudelo and defender Gale Agbossoumonde are the first two products of U.S. Soccer's Development Academy to earn national call-ups. There are six uncapped players in the squad, and a half dozen more with only 10 international caps between them. The regulars, Landon Donovan, Clint Dempsey, Jozy Altidore, Tim Howard and Carlos Bocanegra, among others, will not be making the trip. Bradley said he is building toward the 2011 Gold Cup and his preparation starts here.

I just hope we dont have a repeat ofthe last gold cup
