Edson Buddle on the 30 man?

Davies out. Expected but still sad

Eddie Johnson prolly took Davies' spot. According to ESPNEWS, Johnson played pretty good last couple games especially during Greek League's playoff. Scoring 3 goals in 4 games. I wonder how good he really is.

He still needs to cut the roster down to 22 so maybe Sacha might be out by the final roster comes out. Eddie Johnson should know that he maybe the first player out in that forward group so hopefully, he can play with a little chip on his shoulder.

So I guess Charlie Davies was not included on this roster because he wasn't given medical clearance by Sochaux. Is it 100% necessary to have clearance from you club team to be included on the roster or was Bob Bradley just playing it safe?

I expected them to add him anyway and allow him to continue to develop and be ready to play in a month.

This.

Findley needs more seasoning. Ching is pretty much done. Hopefully the new guys have a great camp.

Say what you will about EJ, but when the man gets hot...he gets REALLY hot.

Jozy
E. Buddle
Ching
EJ or Gomez

will be the forwards going. I used to HATE Brian Ching too, but he does the little things that help teams win. Not to mention his ability in the air. Again, I don't think he'll start, but he needs to be included.

And I know Sacha plays in the MLS, but why does he keep getting !$*%@+# on. He's not that bad. I'd keep him over Robbie Rogers. Although neither will probably make the final 23.

My question is.................What 7 players do you cut by June????

Can someone please tell me what the deal is with E. Buddle? Sounds like ya'll are all up on him, but I'm not a big MLS follower so I've never actually seen him play. What's his style, speed guy, control guy, etc?

Hopin Feilhaber breaks the starting lineup. Love the way that dude plays when he's on.

Ching was the guy the last 3, 4 years, but age and injuries have caught up with him. I dont see him being effective in SA. I used to think Sacha was future star, but dude has really fallen off these last couple of years. I mean he is ok with Chivas USA, but this is the WC. Rogers still has time, but not much. He needs to improve his decision making.

The 7 players I cut:

Borstein
EJ
CHING
FINDLEY
SACHA
PIERCE
ROGERS

* NOTE: WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO HAVE JERMAINE JONES* Hopefully he recovers from those injuries.

This is a pretty good summary of what he's doing lately
He scored two hat tricks: one in Week 8 against FC Dallas and one in Week 12 against the San Jose Earthquakes[sup][3][/sup], winning the MLS Player of the Week in both weeks.[sup][4][/sup] After his second hat trick, teammate David Beckham commented, "Edson is an individual who is getting better at the game. He's proved that tonight."[sup][5][/sup] After scoring his ninth goal against the Columbus Crew on June 22, 2008, coach Ruud Gullit said he had become a "true professional" and that he was "very pleased" with him.[sup][6][/sup]ESPN'sAndrea Canales noted that Buddle had once suffered from a reputation ofbeing "maddeningly lazy at times, giving up on passes that didn't fallin his striking-sweet zone," but that he had improved due to guidancefrom Beckham and an improved self-confidence as he scored more goals.[sup][5][/sup] MLS Extratime's Shep Messingsaid, "I don't think there's a better tandem up top than Landon Donovanand Edson Buddle...They complement each other. They don't take awayeach other's space, making it better for each other."[sup][7][/sup]

Buddle has recently been linked with a short term loan deal away from Los Angeles Galaxy. Blackburn Rovers have reportedly shown interest in bring him to the Premier League[sup][8][/sup].

He's definitely gotten hot recently.  Still, he has very little international experience - will be interesting to see what he can show in camp.  He has only one cap with the senior squad and it was in 2003.

Would be a pretty incredible turn of events if he made the squad and was able to produce anything for us, I'm rooting for him - because frankly like most I don't like Ching or EJ, and I have no faith in Findley or Gomez to provide much.

My 7 cuts would be:

Gomez, Findley, Beasley, Edu, Bedoya, Pearce... and last is a toss-up for me.  I'm okay with all the mids and forwards after those are removed, and i'd hate to remove another defensemen leaving us with just 7 to travel.  So I'd probably have to get rid of either Sacha, Benny, or Robbie.. and out of those three Robbie is my favorite, but probably the odd man out.  I'd personally get rid of Sacha I guess, but it's a tough call.

Damn i definitely feel for Davies.. I was hoping he would make the squad.

I heard Nasri and Benzema werent included on Frances roster. Also Ronaldinho, Pato, and Adriano were not included on Brazils squad.. SMH.

Wow, those are some big names to be left off.

Not entirely surprising, but could you imagine if the US could afford to leave guys like that off our roster.

hope Buddle does well..if i remember right he got called up for the first time like 6-7 years ago, but injuries have kept him out of the picture

i think Pearce, Findley, Rogers, Bedoya will all be out, cant call the last three though

would rather keep a couple of those guys but Bob seems to love giving EJ & Beas a chance..just dont think he would call them into the squad and not make the final roster

Good lookin out man.  Interested to see how he fairs.  We def need someone to pair with Jozy and CD9 and him seemed to play nicely together.  Good to hear Buddle and Landon have some chem though.

Italy left Luca Toni and Totti off...man.  I'm not surprised by Rhonaldinho being left, but Adriano wrecks the WC, Dunga is gonna regret that.  Bassong and Gomes being invited by Cameroon and Brazil

Help me understand why you would leave Mo at home and bring Robbie Rogers? I can't make any sense of that Edu is a far better player than Rogers.

My 7 cuts are:

Bornstein
Rogers
Findley
Gomez
Kljestan
Marshall
Ching.....(well damn)

You know what, I'd rather have Beas there than Ching.

Nasri was battling with his injury and Benzema apparently wasn't in a right form for World Cup play although lot of people speculating that it has to do with his recent sex scandal. I'm surprised that Clichy was left out. I thought he had a chance to be in that line up.
I'm not surprised that both Adriano and Ronaldo are left out knowing how Dunga manages his team. Brazil didn't even announced 30-man roster, they just went ahead and announced final 22 man roster so unless something happens to one of those players Ronaldinho is not going to be part of the team. I hoped Brazil would take chance in Pato and Ronaldinho but Dunga is really conservative so I understand why two men were left out.

Davies is interesting. I saw in ESPNEWS after the roster came out that he maybe good enough to train and play league games (not starting) but he is nowhere close to play for World Cup right now so I respect that decision by Bradley to leave him out. I hope that this doesn't end his international career, Davies is clearly one of best forward we have and I wish nothing but the best for him.
