**Official USMNT Soccer Thread**

Apparently it's Matt Besler, some defender from Sporting KC. Club President leaked earlier that he and Graham Zusi are in.

Jose Torres, Geoff Cameron, Fabian Johnson, and Danny Williams have also been leaked by various sources.

Official roster in an hour.

It ain't the A-Team, that's for sure...

GOALKEEPERS (3): Tim Howard (Everton), Sean Johnson (Chicago Fire), Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake)
DEFENDERS (6): Matt Besler (Sporting Kansas City), Steven Beithasour (San Jose Earthquakes), Geoff Cameron (Stoke City), Edgar Castillo (Club Tijuana), Michael Orozco Fiscal (San Luis), Fabian Johnson (Hoffenheim)
MIDFIELDERS (9): DaMarcus Beasley (Puebla), Kyle Beckerman (Real Salt Lake), Joe Corona (Club Tijuana), Maurice Edu (Rangers), Jermaine Jones (Schalke 04), Jose Torres (Pachuca), Brek Shea (FC Dallas), Danny Williams (Hoffenheim), Graham Zusi (Sporting Kansas City)
FORWARDS (4): Terrence Boyd (Rapid Vienna), Landon Donovan (LA Galaxy), Herculez Gomez (Santos), Chris Wondolowski (San Jose Earthquakes)

Yeah, I don't see the problem. Dempsey/Altidore not playing sorta sucks. But not surprising.

Shea? Surprising.
hopefully he gets his head straight because hes got so much talent

its been all downhill since the olympic team missed out on qualifying..then he gets suspended for kicking the ball at a ref, and again for getting into it with his coach

Shea's inclusion is a head-scratcher.
Glad to see Beas back in the fold....

Shea's inclusion is not a head scratcher to me. Klinnsman likes Shea allot and this was his best chance to keep his him grounded. The missing the Olympics really messed this duded up.

Also disappointed that Pontius did not get called up but the Alan Moore dude did.

The best way to keep him grounded is by calling him up to the National Team again? Missing London "messed him up"? Who cares? Get over it. There were 22 players and a dozen coaches who had to get over it. He should do the same.

Brek has NOT been performing well this season for FC Dallas. A club team that is near the bottom in the West of the MLS. I know our LM/ LW options are somewhat limited, but the last time I saw Brek in a USMNT shirt he underperformed. I know he's very talented. I know what he's capable of. But in my opinion, his play this year hasn't warranted a call up.

Say what you will about JK's tactics and motivational skills, but his roster decisions continue to baffle me.

Castillo still? He's proven he can't play at this level?
Where's Sacha?
Kyle Beckerman cannot play on this level. Yet he's one of JK's favs.

If nothing else can be learned from the Bradley years, it is that playing favorites can kill you. See John Bornstein vs. Mexico in the GC Final. See Rico Clark vs. Ghana in the WC Round of 16.

We have a legit core group of guys (Timmy, Michael, Landon, Clint, Jozy, Carlos*, Steve* and now I'd even add F. Johnson to that list) everyone else should be called in based on their current form and how well they mesh with the a fore mentioned.

That's my 2cents.

^^I agree with everything your saying. I think Klinsy brought in the mexican dudes, because they have played in Azteca many times. Meaning they will be acclimated to the conditions. I would have like to seen GATT or maybe another young Euro guy get a shot here, but we have to run with what we have. Prediction 2-1 USA :smokin

feeelssgood If we can get a result today. Especially at AZTECA.

I dont see us beating Mexico, unfortunately. With that said, I'll be sneaking as many peaks as I can during work.

HERC.

the pitch seems to be REAL quick. ball bouncing all over the place as well. lot of misplays on both sides.
