**Official USMNT Soccer Thread**

Maybe I read your post wrong but it seemed like you were dismissing Bedoya and Zusi saying Donovan deserves to be there in their place which is disrespectful to them and also flat out wrong.

Saying Donovan deserves to be in Brazil over Chandler because he's "put in more work" is ridiculous if the goal in Brazil is to get results.

I didn't mean to disrespect Zusi or Bedoya as if I'm saying they aren't worth their weight. I'm just saying, if Donovan was picked over Zusi, Bedoya, or Chandler then I don't think anyone second guesses that decision.

I'll agree to disagree on Chandler. I've seen Donovan play with the team and I know the chemistry is there and he's produced results. I haven't seen much of Chandler, but I'm not about to bring him on because he's produced results with guys he won't even be playing with. Like I said though, we can agree to disagree. If Jurgen's squad gets further than our last squad then maybe I'll rethink my argument for Donovan.

Based on my performances leading up to camp, based on my preparation for the camp, based on my fitness, based on my workload, based on the way I trained and played in camp, I not only thought I was a part of the 23, I thought I was in contention to be starting. That's why this has all been pretty disappointing.

Donovan should be on the team. Having an experienced veteran and a superstar who represents USA Soccer would be great as a role model and a leader for this young team as they will face extreme adversity playing in the "group of death". Bad move coach

I don't like the decision of cutting Landon.

But when the World Cup rolls around, or even the first warm up match this week, I'll be over it and cheering 100% for the 23 guys on the squad..... Just like Landon is

Wholetime that pic of Landy yaw keep floating around is in a GALAXY shirt and not even current... SOn was in better shape in Palo Alto (than that pic) and it was evident in the US ESPN series currently being run. OH, and he scored two goals on Sunday to break the All Time MLS record. Love the banner that Galaxy Fans unveiled in support of LD on sunday:

"If there are 23 better players than Landon, then we have a chance to win the World Cup".

Ya, it definitely wasn't LD's fitness that was in question.... I've listened to tons of pundits say that they have seen or had sources report that Landon looked great out there overall and fitness was great.

Props to Landon for working himself into shape from that photo we've been busting his apple bag over to being World Cup ready. At the end of the day, it was a Jurgen issue; not something Landon didn't do or show on the training grounds of Stanford.

I am very excited for tonights game and to see who the hell we got on the backline. (I wish I had an equally worthy gif to use @psk2310

)

Also, why am I reading that there is a possibility that Fabian and Chandler may be switching sides of the field?? That makes no damn sense, especially since Fabian is one of the natural left footed players on the squad.

I get where you're coming from but I absolutely 100% would question a decision to leave off one of the aforementioned in favor of Donovan based strictly on ability. Like I said before IMO all three are superior players to Donovan right now and you'd be surprised how many people agree. I expect we'll see at the very least 2 of the 3 starting tonight.

..........................Jozy
Bedoya..........Dempsey...............Zusi
..................Bradley Jones
Chandler Besler Cameron Fabian

Chandler on his game is nothing short of an unstoppable force at RB I'd much rather see him there with Beasley on the left and FJ slotted on the wing but this is my best guess as to how we'll start later.

As a long time fan, thanks Landon but it's a new age & it was time to move on. I'm glad it happened sooner than later.

Let's be honest here. Landon has always had long periods where you would question his commitment to the game & has been mentally soft.

As talented as he was, he would disappear for some big games but given a lot of leeway by coaches & make up for it in other games. I've seen enough games from him over the years where he was ghost for whole games.

He's benefited from not having been pushed by the threat of another player taking his spot & it's allowed him to coast at times. Well it caught up to him. A former world class striker whose won at every level saw what he had & made what he thinks is the right decision (which I agree with).

Landon even said himself that he's not capable of being consistent anymore in the clip below. & Word to b fresco b fresco because he looks in better shape at the end of the clip.

Let's move on fellas...

Well said @psk2310

also, here is episode 2 of the Road to Brazil series in case anyone hasn't seen it yet.

Pretty short, I'm sure this thursday's episode will be an hour long since it needs to cover the cuts...

Reports are saying Mix will be wearing the number 10 shirt. I like it.

Also - I'd love to see Jozy get on the board tonight.

Yeah...all I need/want tonight is a Jozy goal and a clean sheet. People would panic if it was only 1-0 so...just make it 4-1 to be safe.

omar still battling injury i take it? or trying to get a different look? little of both maybe
