**Official USMNT Soccer Thread**

That goal was hilarious.

I'll take that first half all day. We gotta take more chances this next half and play better defense. Everything they attack they get great looks. That needs to stop.45 more minutes. LEGGO AMERICA.

The new ball is TERRIBLE(Charles Barkley voice).
Seriously though, I haven't seen a decent FK in any game aside from Henry's shot.
That says a lot, considering how much practice time these guys are putting in. This ball takes off like a NERF ball.

On another note, Buddle needs to come in, in the 2nd half. Buddle is in form while Altidore had a terrible season at Hull, only scoring 1 goal.

But when others brought it up in the WC thread you were like it's no big deal and everyone always complains...

there might be a problem with the ball Shawn Wright-Phillip's shot isn't a good example of how it's affecting shot attempts. you'll get that same swerving action by slightly miss hitting any ball.
terrible first half defending. terrible isn't even the right word, we just looked unprepared. so much miscommunication, so many chances that England simply shouldn't have had. not to mention some pretty indifferent looking individual defending from a couple of specific midfielders.

offensively i think we're doing fine. we're possessing and making runs, the difference in comfort level and confidence between our attacking players and defenders is painfully obvious and the difference is night and day.

you guys are killing me with this ball talk.  the ball may very well be terrible, people have been complaining about it since it was debuted (like they do every major tournament) but some of the responses are ridiculous and terrible examples of the balls faults.

he had the right fundamental save, and it's that ball, us is hella lucky.

that ball had no affect on Dempsey's shot or Green's inability to make the save.
if you watch the replay, when Green took a knee (fundamentally incorrect) he was slightly off center almost at a 45 degree angle. he missed it and given his positioning the ball got past him. to say that fundamentally he performed correctly and that it was the ball's fault is laughable.

yall wanna see that ball act up? wait till Gerrad or Rooney cracks one from distance and really connects.

I'm sorry...next time I'll ask for your permission before I change my opinion on something.

Go USA please win this. I got 100 euros on USA winning and if they win i get 675 euros. So more lucky goals.

Really proud of the guys today. I'm use to them folding when times get hard but they responded.

England = Rooney + Gerrard + A. Cole + Terry surrounded by mediocre/crap players. I feel bad for Rooney...he did everything right but Lennon and Wright-Phillips killed almost every English attack.

Great way to hold on through the rough spots. Jozy should have had that goal, but I'm sure everyone's just happy to not have been blasted away.

Now lets see if the US can outscore England through the next 2 games.

at the end of the day it's a great result.

we had chances in the second half and i think we could have actually won this one but neither England or USA was the better team today and a 1 - 1 draw is fitting.

i like where we're sitting going into the remaining group games. hopefully we can build on this quality result going forward against Algeria and Slovenia, continue to build on the confidence of our attacking players, become more solid defensively, and get a couple of wins going into the knockout stages of the tournament.

my player of the game, Tim Howard. Cherundolo played great too.
