**Official USMNT Soccer Thread**

People were talking about Jozy in the Prem... Lol, he needs to stay right where he is. Low pressure, not a lot of visibility just like he likes it...dude plays so tight in pressure situations that he could crap out a 10 karat diamond before the ref blows the whistle for half time.

There is not very much pressure in this friendly

Belgium is gonna use all 6 subs I think

I'm not the biggest Jozy fan...but he has almost zero help in the midfield/supply department.

It's so easy to defend the US. Just mark out the striker because you know our midfield isn't going to do **** attacking wise

Yes, US & especially in MLS, we don't have a clue how to be creative/attacking middies but its not true that Jozy doesn't get serviced. He's had plenty of looks given to him in front of the net, he just doesn't show up in pressure situations.

it wouldn't be a Jermaine Jones game, if he doesn't get carded

There's just no talent/skill in the midfield at all. Don't see anybody who can control possession in the midfield, pick a pass through a defense, break a defense down with movement/passing or create chances for other players. The US's entire offense is just hoofing up balls to the striker and hoping they can perform a miracle.

But that's not Jurgen's fault...the US just doesn't produce those kinds of players. :smh:

US needs to just park the bus and play counterattacking football when they play good teams.

We need Landon back as well, this power trip is ridiculous...hopefully he gets a run out in the Gold Cup to get integrated back in the squad. They would've looked better tonight with MB90 and Fab but still that defense, especially the CB pairing needs serious work...oh and Cameron CANNOT play RB at this level :x

I hate how the commentators keep saying "This is a wake up call" or "Lesson learned, the team needed this." I've been hearing that for the past 3 years

Jones and Beasley stood out to me as the best US players on the field.

Oh and Jozy's only chance on goal.....he blows it :smh:

I know this is the last thing people like to hear but US NEEDS Freddy Adu. We sorely lack the creativity that Adu brings to the table.

Lalas and Twellman are idiots, I wish Ian Darke could just do it solo

We don't have the talent these Euro teams do, so I don't ever have heightened expectations...I'd be much more pissed if we were England, cuz they have talent and still disappoint even more than we do

Only thing that matters is WC qualification, where we're doing much better than Mex right now who haven't even scored yet

And Freddy Adu? Nah man, he couldn't even get time on the Union in MLS...he's down in Brazil (barely playing) now but his game is suited for that style so if he doesn't show well there then he doesn't need a sniff of national team play. I agree though Beas was very good and Jones showed well, Clint was solid too. The rest of that D beyond DMB though :x :x :x lawd.

Once Landon is fit there is no reason at all for him to be out of the team though, 75% of Jozy's goals have come when Lando has been in the lineup thats not a coincidence...he's the best player we've ever produced and they play well together.

High res highlights from last night's game hit youtube. That back line defense against the Mirallas was atrocious. I think it's safe to say that most folks knew that back line was going to get scored on but fundamentally, they played horribly. To be caught so far out of position like Goodson and Cameron were on that goal & then when Omar's failure to properly clear the ball was just terrible. I mean this is basic stuff the NT shouldn't be screwing up on.

Jozy needs to just quit trying to be a good footballer. Go to the Saudi league and have him convert to the Canadian national team or something.
