There's a reason LBJ and Hughes have been out. Both to resign Anderson AND to get S. Brown on the court. GM's aren't going to take someone in a trade they haven't seen on the court. On top of this, he's said in recent interviews he would play here, and the rumor came out a few weeks ago the Cavs were going for him or Andre Miller.
And you guys would be surprised at how much goes on behind the scenes in pro sports. I'm not saying I'm an insider, I'm not by any means, but I wouldn't be surprised if LeBron and Hughes have been sitting to give the trade bait a showcase. When Hughes was first injured he was listed as day-to-day, next thing I know it's 4-6 weeks? It doesn't work like that.
Get Kidd to Cleveland. And get him in a Cavs jersey in one of those PS's, no one ever said SA (have you heard of Tony Parker?) or Houston.
you're wrong on a couple counts.
by signing his new contract (which gave him a significant raise over the old one), varejao is now a base-year compensation player, making it hard to trade him. even with hughes and shannon brown, the numbers don't add up. i've been tossing trade ideas around with some cavs fans that i'm friends with -and unless gooden or z is included, the numbers really don't add up.
and when i said SA - i was referring to a few years back, after the spurs swept the nets in the finals. kidd was a free agent, and got offered a max deal bythe spurs, but turned it down to stay for more money with jersey. i bet kidd regrets not taking the offer now. tony parker wasn't nearly as good then ashe is now, and the idea was either to move him to the 2 spot, to the 6th man spot, or trade for kidd in a sign and trade.
