do those livestrong dri-fit socks have the same amount of cushion as elites? it looks like they do but just wondering if anyone has tried a pair. I have been trying to find the elites without the stripe and those livestrong ones are pretty close

alat....please tell me what good things people are saying about the 2 Layers?  I have 2 pairs and both of mine slide around something terrible.  The cushioning is great, cant deny that, but the sliding around will prevent me from getting any more pairs of these.  Such a let down in my opinion.  Just an FYI Im speaking in terms of using these to play ball not for just casual use.

Fella check out your local D!cks Sporting Good store... I checked out my local store this weekend and they had 3 3tier bins of socks on cleareance. A ton of it was Vapor and Elites.

The Vapors were 8.97
The Elites were 6.97 (2-layer and Regular Elite, Crew and High)

The came without the packaging and were just taped together, but they were new and great deal.

^ you may end up liking them. Maybe it's just me. No one else really weighed in on em so they might be good for everyone else.

^ Thx! Good to hear I'm not alone on this one. The original elites, platinums, and the 2.0 were all fine with me. Really stayed in position and no movement. The best at these are the compression socks and the vapor crew football sock. They really are lock down. I haven't tried the sequalizers yet so the verdict remains outstanding.

Yeah i got a pair of the 2 layers and not a fan of the sliding. I still prefer the vapor crews over the elites.

Eastbay has the blue kobe socks: http://www.eastbay.com/product/model:189288/sku:04738411/nike-kobe-8-elite-basketball-sock-mens/blue/grey/?cm=searchnikeelitesocks
Footlocker/FA/Champs probably has them too since they share the same inventory.

They got the new Sequalizers as well. Thank you, sir.

Just checked, the other sites don't have them. Weird.

Going to be on the lookout for new elite socks.. When I go to my local mall..

I picked up some of the royal/black/white Sequalizers at MC Sports today. Does this surprise anybody else that they had them?

John, I've tried wearing a regular pair of elites under my 2 layers and it was too thick to function properly.  I couldnt even get my sneaker on.  With the 2 layers I've just worn them by themselves.

For reference, I was a big fan of wearing 2 elite socks (one over the other) for basketball but now I have a different idea.

With my cleats: I've been wearing the Nike football compression socks (the volt ones...came out a while ago but are hard to find now in stores) and then my vapor elites over them.  Adds a bit more cushioning.  The support/lockdown (no sock movement) of the vapor elites is great but they arent as cushioned as the bball elites.

For bball: Same concept as for football.  Wear the compression football sock then the elite bball sock.

Hope this makes sense.

This is exactly what i do with my cleats, vapors over the compressions. Tried the 2 layers with my cleats and just weren't very comfortable. Also tried the compressions under the 2 layers and couldn't fit my cleats on.

i understand, put the thinner sock underneath the thick one. i do occsionally wear those volt football socks for looks, although they are a bit thin and rigid for bball. i wear 1/2 cushion drifits under, which kinda goes against the idea above but they still feel like reg elites with less slippage. im gonna experiment with the two layers to try to find a solution. wink.gif

New colors of Elites are up on Eastbay. Looks like they're also included in the 3 for $30 special.
