What's good with Nike Elite Basketbal Crew socks? (SOCKS FTW!)

Waited two hours for the socks... and I was literally 1 person away from winning a pair of Lebrons at the Nike Area 72 setup :frown:

Never thought that there will be a day where socks would be highly sought after smh

All these colorful socks are WAY too loud imo

Would be nice for Nike to make the crazier elites a little more available.

I think the wild patterns are kinda cool

But I just refuse to pay the price to customize em

Oh well.

/rant

^ how's it free? elites r 14 and I'm pretty sure they charge like 25 for customs

Customization is free.. . I pretty sure I know because I've gotten my socks customized at the Final Four last year, and here in Houston this weekend.

you do realize that customization is free right?

Location, location, location....

I said I wish NIKE would make em more available.

That's great if you happen to live in the given area of customization, but the rest of the planet does not.

That gives resellers a huge advantage because the rarity of the custom socks is crazy.

What I'd like to see is NIKE actually manufacture these color ways and make
Em more available... Not necessarily GR status but soft releases like the KD elites.

What's up guys. Some of you may be familiar with us. We've been customizing elite socks for over two years now, the very first company to do so. A few of our team members have been (and continue to be) active Niketalk members for well over 5 years, and have been connected to the sneaker culture and community for quite some time. We've been growing quickly and have wanted to make ourselves more apparent on the message boards. We're going to be updating you all on our releases more frequently, as well as offering NT members 10% off on all custom orders from our site (using code NIKETALK at checkout).

We've been at Houston this entire weekend for All-Star festivities, and have recently released our collection commemorating the mid-season matchup. We always aim to release socks that complement the coinciding shoe release, never clash with the shoe. We never understood the point of wearing say a shoe comprised of only elephant print, and wearing an elephant print sock. We try to accentuate the minor details, as you will see in many of our sock releases.

We understand our items may be a bit pricey, it's tough for a small company like ours to sustain when the items we customize are already expensive as is. We're always attempting to give the best experience to our customers, as you will see when you receive a package from us...we don't want to ruin the surprise. If ya'll have any questions, we're all ears and will answer to the best of our knowledge. We should have pictures up of the whole Nike Area 72 installation soon on our site. For now, check out our newest drops on our website ...we look forward to chopping it up with you all in the forums. Thanks
Any free shipping?? Shipping makes it almost $50 for a pair of socks.
Their shipping prices don't add up this is from the Rock'Em Website
All orders are shipped through USPS via First Class or Priority Mail once the order has been processed. We are a customization business, and items will be processed in the order in which they were purchased. Once processed, shipping take 3-4 business days. Quicker shipping options (such as next day air) are available at request. Please emailorders@rockemapparel.com  for any inquiries regarding shipping.

Im really surprised everyone buys from rockem when you can buy from quantanamobay

their socks are only 30 compared to 40 and have better designs imo

i have bought three from them so far they're legit

Look this is easy, if you like simple elites and can't handle a wild design then hit Eastbay up for the 3X$10 deal. I just copped 9 pairs and got free shipping EASY, if you like the artistic joints and can handle a pricey custom made sock then I'd hit G34andmore.com , I've watch most of the customizers bite their designs from them and I bought a pair over a year and  half ago (that never faded) from them when fools was still dyeing their sock . Wait till you find out where all this custom ISH came from, you'd trip. They instagramed this pic earlier today to get you free shipping. Whatever you choose, To each is own, why hate on the next man style, DO YOU & keep it pushing! BANG!!

Way. To. Busy. If you're going to advertise your or your friend's site, please make sense!

Since the elite craze started. The two OG customizers have been freshswagg and rock em socks (now rock em apparel). Now, there are a plethora of customizers out there. In my experience, you can easily tell how good/or bad a customizer is by there website. Most of the bad customizers use templates as there site and have a name as _____ elites. The good customs have a nice flowing site, and you can definitely tell they invested money into a site.

chill out pedro
I havent been on NT too long but could we please re-initiate the approval process? These types of comments are at an all time high!

As for the elites, how are the sequalizers? I've had no problems with my 1.0's and platinum's but my 2.0's have frayed on me and are very low quality IMO.

Ok this is going get interesting.

About your quote "Way. To Busy." First I agree with you as far as the busy-ness, I would of did a site a much different myself but I don't catch feelings about their site cause it's THEIR SITE. I don't get on messaage boards saying people don't make sense when I know facts that can prove that their were earlier customizers before FS and & Rockem that should be called OG. I don't get on Msg brds saying that it was my or my friends site just caused I bought from them.

As a matter of fact, I've bought more socks per piece from FS & Rockem then G34. I like them too. That's like saying that if I like Mache as a shoe customizer and I want to REP him up then I don't make sense. So, I love Footlocker over the others, does that make others less important , NO , cause it's just my opinion. I was bigging up Eastbay so do I own them too. NO cause I was helping other NT heads get a deal remember.

I just recently met their crew at a recent sneaker show and I love their wild ISH but most of the time I keep it simple with reg elites, like i said in my post. I was giving out info of cheap elites reg or busy ones. SMDH.  All I was saying was that before I ever seen any of the your OG's, according to you, online there was other folks like TB4Sports and even swapmeet booths were pumping these bad boys out.  So how do I not make sense.

Remember my last quote, to each his own. Why hate on the next mans style. I hate skinny jeans but I don't diss them fools. I'm not a Trinidad James fans but I don't judge that man cause I'm not in his face.

BTW. believing that "the good customs have flowing sites" will make people feel like they should never go to a spot like Sportie LA and cop kicks because they don't look as good as champs. Customelites.com and sockswagger have good products too. Looking at the bottom of this page, We know that Rockem sponsors this board but even they know that they aren't the ONLY Reputable customizers. They were dyeing socks when I bought my "OG" elites from TB4. Next time we should be chill to each other on here instead of trying to boss up knowing damn well we aren't face to face.

Just had to defend my self people.

forgive the rant.

To each his own (or to each website owner with an NT account). We take this very seriously, and to see other attempts come off as such unappealing, busy products (our opinion) is a little disheartening. Since dropping the new website back in October, we've tried to play by the rules. You'll never see a copyrighted article on our sock (Picture of an athlete, team logos, album covers.) for sale. We do custom work for clients that we make sure we get approval of copyrighted material before creating a final product (NCAA teams, NBA players, artists). Another thing we never will do is completely bite a design. We dropped the "Captain America" inspired socks back when the Avengers dropped...now everyone has them. The early bird gets the worm and moves on.

To address our shipping model, when compared to other companies such as Eastbay, Nike.Com, FootLocker, etc. our pricing is standard. All of our items are bought and sold at retail cost (or customized), with every fee involved we would be losing money in the long run. It's also not your run-of-the-mill package, we try to provide a great experience to each of our customers. We appreciate your concern.

We've been working on a ton of huge, cool projects, of which we will bring to light once they are finalized, and have even gained praise from a few higher-ups at Nike (stay tuned for more on that). Here's a recent custom job we did for the guys over at SLAM Magazine, a staple of my childhood and of basketball culture. Who didn't have a wall filled with SLAMUP posters?

Eastbay NDC and FNL all ship with UPS so it is more expensive.

What kind of packaging do you use if you don't mind me asking?

^^^ Custom screen printed bags, which does drive the shipping price up a bit. If you'd like to talk more about our business model, and comments/concerns can be handled over our email.

Good point R.E.A ,

I'm glad you chimed in, I hope you didn't take what I was saying as a swipe at you guys.  I was referring to a few other companies that bite. I would of just typed it if i thought saying their names would of been constructive. But hey, Why HATE, right ? And as far as capt America, lol, yep they raped you on that one. I'm sure you've recovered though. I just don't like to be talked to in a way that different then how the concersation would go in my face. I value opinions from everywhere but telling people it doesn't make sense when it comes to taste, I can't agree with that. Think about it. Isn't that how all you guys got in business in the first place. By wanting to be different. You guys ,Quan Bay, Freshswagg, G34, customelites and The sockgame all have there own lanes. I'm just  enjoying the creativity that comes from everyone.  My money goes to the creative process , and as you know, that ain't always the most popular choice.

. It's as ridiculous as these two fools at the mall at All Star Weekend. One was saying Rockem sucks cause its to much design on the sock and the other saying NIKE needs more crazy designs like the sequalizers, huh( Kanye shoulders shrug) , They asked me and I said why hate on Rockem they probably forced NIKE to come up with the sequalizer in the first place B, lol.

I appreciate companies when they have a presence on NT. I dont like it when they blatantly try and advertise because they can get enough free advertising just by being a part of the community and answering questions. Being able to get a timely response to a question on NT is better than sending a message through "Contact Us" on a website and never hearing a reply (or a generic one that doesn't really answer the question but took 2 weeks to get).

I'm not a custom sock guy but I appreciate you being here. Other companies should do the same (yes I realize that annoying people will ask the same questions over and over again, but its a nature of the beast!).
