What's good with Nike Elite Basketbal Crew socks? (SOCKS FTW!)

Its really not my business one way or the other so I don't care either way, but just a few things:

1. They are using the actual product in discussion here which is the NIKE Elite socks. Its not as if they have their own proprietary sock brand or style and are "pushing" it or "promoting" it.

2. People, on the thread, including myself asked specific questions, not unlike many people do about availability, sizing, stock location, etc... Some of that repetitive questioning bothers or annoys me but I don't gripe about it. Its part of the thread and some people don't take the time to investigate deeper, read back or search for the answer themselves before asking the question. Its all good in the end. Different strokes for different folks.

3. Its not as if this thread moves like some others 10-15 pgs. in a day, and this info is getting mixed in with other daily updates, weekly updates, etc... Updates on socks usually occur every few weeks or even months, so I don't really so the big deal with this info being added here.

Lastly, people are curious naturally, so they ask questions, IT can be taken to PM which I have done, but I don't think these posts are made here specifically for the idea of gaining direct sales and exposure. The customization deal is a pretty niche market and these guys probably have done their homework. They aren't targeting the "masses" here as most people wont be paying upwards of 30-40 bucks for some socks. Its a very cool idea and concept but definitely not for everyone.
 
i honestly dont have an issue with it but there is a rule against promoting ones own site. i do believe it was preapproved by people beyond me.

if it was approved, i agree with Bryscooplaygrifhold for most of his points. Nothing really new has come up on the elite sock front but disagree that they arent promoting their brand. their 1st set of posts was promoting their brand.
 
Personally I like the information they provide, however, feel they should start their own thread where they can discuss their product and answer questions. I know this thread doesn't move that much, but its basically become one big advertisement for them.

if Eastbay is out of a size, are they constantly restocking, or are they done for a while?

EastbayRep usually replies to these posts. I think the regualar ones restock. The exclusive ones.... not sure.

ok here's the update. Rock 'Em Apparel is an authorized vendor on this site just like EastbayRep is. Please show them the same courtesy that you show our other vendors.

Also, to remove some clutter members are complaining about, please ask all questions to Rock 'Em Apparel via PM. the last possible resort will be to create a separate custom elite thread. I honestly think both custom and regular elites can co-exist but if you guys think otherwise, I will be more than welcome to discuss it. The goal is for everyone to be happy and I think the PMing of questions is a good compromise.
 
A new thread should be made for rock'em. They have a nice product but not into all that custom stuff.

These are two separate products with two different price points.

Rock'em deserves their own thread, especially being a vendor here.
 
I dont think having a Custom Elite thread would be too bad of an idea, and have it not be restricted to just RockEm but other custom elite sites. But not sure on how well/active thread will be.
 
anyone notice that the black ones are shorter than the white-based elites?  i have the blk elite 1s in large and sequalizers in large, and ALL my white larges are longer.  so confused about the inconsistent sizing....sucks too b/c you won't know 'til you try them on, and by then, you can't return 'em bc it's been opened....

Some of the different colors are made in different places, and I think may have slightly different percentages of the components of the fabric.

Depending on the colorway in question, we may or may not be receiving any restocks.

Am I crazy or are there really some Quarter Cut Elite Socks floating around? Not the LJ or KB ones just straight up Nike ones
 
It just seems like if you buy two or three pairsof the same size, they all  fit different. I remember my girl buying size mediums and me not noticing I had been wearing one of them the whole day but they felt the same as the size large on my opposite foot. When I took them off to compare, they were both the same looking length,smh. The gotta' fix that.

They are absolutely out there, I got some Red/White, Purple/White and White/Orange last spring @ Marshalls for $5 a pop.......

There are posts/pics all over in the old sneakertalk version of this very thread ......
