STREET FIGHTER

Yikes capcom. I won't purchase a PS4 till the holidays anyway. I may not purchase one until RD for Street Fighter

Yeah, this is crazy. We all get the point of the beta, but I guess people wouldn't be so heated if it weren't a paid beta (yes, you can do the Amazon Okie Doke).

After three days of testing, while we were making progress and collecting valuable data, we felt the majority of players were not having a good experience, and the best course of action would be to take the servers offline for extended maintenance.

To be clear, this first beta test attempt will not count toward our previously announced beta test allotments. There will still be at least three full beta tests prior to the game’s launch. So for those in the Americas that feel disappointed that they were not able to experience their pre-order incentive, there will be plenty of opportunities prior to launch to experience the game.

Additionally, we are working on a worthwhile in-game incentive for the players that participated in the first beta test. While we can't confirm specifics just yet, we will have more details on this in the coming weeks

Game is 8 months away so I'm not worried.
If this is still happening on the second and third beta's then yea I'll be worried.

Any 09'ers remember sfiv at launch?

8 months is not a long time to redo your whole online infrastructure. At this point I'm worried. Not saying it's doomed but this beta is a disaster

Are you some kind of expert?

I don't know much about online infrastructure.

How long is a long time if 8 months is not enough?

How do you know this beta issue means the entire online infrastructure has to be redone?

Expert? No, but I know the the basics based on previous experience. I don't know if the whole thing needs to retooled as it could be a number of problems stemming from multiple sources. I do know this first round was a huge flop. That indicates that there could be some sort of fundamental problem with their online infrastructure. Only time will tell.

8 months isn't a long time at all because the amount of trial and error they have left in form of beta testing. After this we have 2 left. If the second go around doesn't work than the 3rd will be yet another trial and error run expect they'd be betting all the marbles. You can only learn so much from small number testing runs as larger numbers of players on one system could crash it. the system isnt holding up even with the connection cap they put on with the allowed players and even region locking. Again, time will tell

Vega claws his way into Street Fighter V

Vega returns to Street Fighter V with a brand new look and new tricks up his frilly sleeves. Possessing his trademark speed and quickness, Vega now has access to two distinct fighting modes: with claw and without claw.

That’s right, he now has the ability to sheathe his claw during battle in exchange for new moves, such as a command grab, as well as new attack properties, greatly changing the way he approaches each fight. Knowing when to toggle between the two styles will be the key to success, and it also allows for new combo possibilities.

Conversely, Vega will no longer be able to pick up his claw once it’s knocked off, so knowing how to fight without the claw is a must! Players who enjoy tricky movement and the technical challenge of switching between claw/no-claw fighting styles will definitely find the beauty in Vega’s play style.
V-Skill: Matador Turn
Vega swiftly dodges the opponent’s incoming attack and chooses whether to launch a quick counterattack that knocks them down or not.
V-Trigger: Bloody Kiss
Vega throws a rose at high velocity towards the opponent. If it hits, he charges behind it and delivers a series of brutal slashes that devastate the enemy. The move can be done as an anti-air from crouch or as an air attack when jumping forward, making it an extremely versatile projectile attack, as well as a combo extender.

Fans attending Gamescom this week will be able to experience the character first hand on the show floor at the Sony booth, so be sure to stop by! I’ll certainly be looking forward to seeing what players come up with once they get their hands on the character. Till next time!

I wouldn't say a character shouldn't be in the game. They're all either people's mains or favourite characters.
Plus it's nice to see them with new moves and a different play style to most of the other games.

Now if you meant they shouldn't be in the main cast and should come as DLC then that's fine.

In exchange for who? Necro? I welcome anyone of the original 12. Hopefully we got all of them
Joe from Street Fighter 1

Surprised by the inclusion of Claw. If he plays like Super (SF2) or ST, that would be great.

Though they could've went with Geki from SF1 who also has a claw.
