STREET FIGHTER

I watched the Combo Breaker Top 8. The first SF V tournament I saw.

Karen looked OP in J. Wong's hands. I'm going to check out the Stun Fest to see what the Asians are doing in the game.

Isn't there supposed to be a story mode that's supposed to drop? I'm waiting for that until I download it on my laptop.

So watched the Stun Fest Top 8. Momochi was beasting but Fuudo's R. Mika looks legit. I thought it was weird how Momochi was jumping in a lot. Is he safe on jump?

So who is the favorite going into Evo? I saw J Wong has all these points followed by a bunch of notables. Has Justin faced any international guys?

I wanted Balrog this month  never been a big Ibuki player at all.

Next month is the June update and cinematic story mode so I'm thinking after Ibuki we won't get another character until the end of July

Justin goes to all the national events and bodies the North Americans. He got bodied at Nor Cal Regionals, Final Round, and red Bull Kumite. Infiltration won all those events.

I'm going to peep those finals. And look back at the comp in event hubs.

Justin is such a quick learner. But based on past titles, the competition tends to catch up or maybe it's a motivation thing. I'm just talking strictly in the U.S.

Edit: Infiltration has a sick Nash. And Tokido's Ryu is legit but Infi seems to be dominating the game at the moment. But hopefully Evo brings some new tech.

I also think SFV suits Justin a lot more than SFIV which is why he's up there.

He's comfortably the best American but the asian guys are still above I think. Tokido, Infiltration, Momochi, Haitani, Mago etc can all give him a run for his money.

He also lost to Filipino Man at Westcoast Warzone but that was a one off IMO.

Infiltration is the favourite for EVO with the Japanese Gods just behind him.

Also, Ibuki has been deayed to come with the story mode update :smh:

Is there a video of the story mode update? And do they plan on doing an arcade mode?

I feel like M$ came correct with KI. Capcom out priced themselves especially with adding DLC, etc.

Based on my observation Wong is a top player. He can dominate. He dominated IV when it dropped. He was winning tournament after tournament except for when the Japanese came and bodied America.

But I'd say things changed around year three of IV at Evo. Ricky, Krone, PR Rog, Latif, Snakeyez, F. Champ, Chris G, K Brad, etc all caught up and Justin wasn't dominating the tournament space like he used to. Same thing happened in Marvel. Not sure if it's his motivation or just a state of the competition/esports.

The way this game's launch went, they should've released the entire DLC roster in the first month and given everyone 200.000 free money as an apology. But they still keep delaying stuff. That arcade mode better be good.

KI didn't have a great start either but they've done so many things right with that game. resolution bump, improved visuals, great netcode and PC release.

SFV will come good but it was obviously rushed in a lot of aspects. They nailed the gameplay but the other stuff needed polishing which they themselves admitted.
Here's the cinemativ story mode trailer

As for Jwong, I just think he wasn't that suited to IV which is why so many overtook him. He's still a top player in Marvel but in the late years of SFIV, I would never right him off but I would never put him as a favourite to win a tournament.

I still expect people to catch up though once they settle with a character. Diemenion made it to top 8 in Toryuken I think with Fang of all characters. Once all the old killers find a character for them then it'll be more competitive but for now, it's all Jwong.

I still have to remind myself the game is only been out for 3 months. Feels a lot longer with the tournaments happening every week.

The way this game's launch went, they should've released the entire DLC roster in the first month and given everyone 200.000 free money as an apology. But they still keep delaying stuff. That arcade mode better be good.

They're still building and balancing the DLC characters but at least all the DLC characters are available till they fix the shop.

So does the game have an end boss? Is it going to be like MK 9/X?

Besides a second place finish in 2013 (i think) and a 1st place in 2014, Justin was making noise in MVC especially at the beginning. But it just seems that after SFIV, growth of esports and a decent sized FG community, he seems a quick learner but the competition just catches up. V is relatively new so we'll see how it shakes out. I'd love to seem him versus Infiltration. He did pretty solid versus Tokido's Ryu.

Wow crazy only 3 months, seems longer. Anyway the games roll out is terrible, easily the worst I've seen.
It's hard to believe Capcom is behind this game with main components incomplete. I've never see a game
with no Arcade mode pushed as a main fighting game, that's crazy!

Jwong always dominates early and loses stream during the middle but always shows up super strong. It's
been that way since the late 90's in whatever game. Japanese/Korea still have everybody in the US's number
with the exception of Wolfkrone back in ultra. Currently jwong is dominating people with the "gootecks shim"
with a character that has great walk speed, for easy bait potential. I've seen like three shimmies walk up throw
or confirm to XXsuper :smh::smh:

For some reason on my PC when I'm playing my character will pause and won't move until I click the mouse
on screen mid match!! I thinking it's ads running in my background or something. Anyone deal with this issue?

Haven't been following sf5 that much

But what made the release so bad?

It was launched as a shell of what may come. Only real mode is online. Even then, Ranked is broken. Capcom failed to implement a DNF for rage quitters.... Something that was established with online PS2 games. It's a basic feature for online fighting games. I think capcom was trolling.

Cinematic story mode will probably have one and most likely Bison as the end boss but Capcom said they might do more in future and with this being a prequel to SFIII, we'll see how they tie in the Illuminati.

Shimi is so powerful and Justin's are so unpredictable. :x
I noticed though that Tokido and a few Japanese players don't fall for it.
Also eating a throw is much better than counter hit into big damage.

Only he game he dominated for the whole duration was Marvel 2. He was almost unstoppable in that game.

I haven't touch SFV in a while

I was going to play it yesterday and thought about how angry the rage quitting makes me

I decided to watch Step Brothers instead

Low key starting to regret buying the game and season pass

How could I forget Marvel 2..yet he dominated that whole run. Low key I wonder if hes seen 300k plus in tournment
winnings over a span of his career?

Played yesterday just for a few games and ran into some rage quitters. Turned if off and back to Overwatch I went.

Seriously, are we still in SF2? Bison is so tired as an end boss. It was fine in 2. In Alpha they went the rival route and they changed Bison in Alpha. But they seriously couldn't create a new character to be the boss. So intellectually bankrupt.

And MVC2 was during the dark ages of the FG community. Footage, tech, guides, etc are out there now. Again, not taking away from his talent/skill to play video games. But post SFIV, he's still great just not dominating in the same way he used to. Like Marvel was his game, and he only managed to win MVC3 once.

I'm just assuming it's Bison but it could easily be Necalli as well. If you look at the intro it's him vs Ryu and it looks like the Satsui no Hado is present in Necalli too. I haven't played his story mode but we don't still know much about him except that he's an ancient warrior.

I think with the cinematic story mode, the focus is on the actual story rather than the barebones stuff we got in the old arcade modes so there might not be an emphasis on a final boss. They also said they might make more in the future if there's demand which there would be.

Capcom is attempting to combine the plots of all of the previous six Street Fighter titles into one game. The numbered entries 1-5, and the Alpha games as well.

"With Street Fighter 5, the concept that we're trying to accomplish is to wrap everything together — all six titles of Street Fighter together — cohesively," Ono said.

We also might see additional story modes for Street Fighter 5, if there's enough demand from the community.

Most of the people who "rage quit" probably don't do it out of rage, but because they're boosting for the golden league trophy. If you run into someone who is close to 4000 points, but he doesn't seem that good and you beat him comfortably in the first round, you already know that he'll pull that Internet cable out of the console as soon as you beat him in the second round.

Man this road to Platinum in ranked is rough.

I got all the way to Ultra Gold (6500 LP) and pretty much lost 1000 LP and deranked all the way down to Gold in one day. I get back up to 6000 then lose it all again smh.

If only matchmaking was fixed and you only fought people close to your rank and not randoms.

Anyone caught the Crash Grand Finals?

No spoilers but I can't wait for EVO now.

Trophy is massive too.
