Universal Studios (theme park) Appreciation Thread - NINTENDO-LAND A GO!

^ :x

I wish they served the butterbeer in cups like the movies.

I can understand when it's to go but I feel like that would of been a nice, subtle touch.

They have the plastic mugs but it's extra $$$

There's also the Hogs Head mug but you could only get it with an alcoholic drink (also extra $$$)

The older (or maybe Orlandos version?) mug looks closer in design from the film.

I've only been to the one in Orlando. But yo, that butterbeer is straight liquid crack! I live in LA so I'll prolly be making the trip to the one out here eventually. Pretty much just for some more butterbeer. "It's calling me maaan" lol

Never watched the series, but when I went I thought butter beer was actually beer.

it was alcoholic in the books and movies so I think many expected it to be in the park

went back to the park again today, sorry not butterbeer pics, place is really just impressive

line wasn't so bad since it's a weekday, Olivander has the longest line though going up to a 90 minute wait

not sure how many here watches wrestling but was pleasantly surprised to see Christopher Daniels on the Waterworld stunt show, he was playing the Deacon
usually the actors go out to take pics with the audience but I didn't see him

Whats at ollivanders??? Just wands
Or is it a show or something
Hit up Costco yesterday
And they had universal season passes for 110
Thinkin bout getting a few

I guess Olivanders is like a show, more like an experience I guess. Pretty much a wand choosing like what happened in the first movie.

Shonen Jump Heads to Universal Studios Japan This Summer with Three New Attractions

The always popular titles of Weekly Shonen Jump are taking over Universal Studios Japan this summer, with three of the magazine's most famous manga represented with new attractions.

This year's 20th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump is announcing on Monday that Dragon Ball Z's Goku will take on the diabolical Freeza again in a 4-D attraction, which ups the realism of a 3-D movie with special effects like wind gusts and rumbling seats. One Piece will be represented with a live stage show. Finally, Death Note fans will get to team up with L and escape Kira's nefarious scheme in a real escape game.

Universal Jump Summer will last from July 1 to September 4 (although the Death Note game begins early on May 9). Universal Studios Japan's current attractions also include a 4-D attraction (based on Neon Genesis Evangelion) and a real escape game (based on Resident Evil). The One Piece show was held in previous summers as well.

Yeah I'm headed to DCA this weekend
So how long are the lines to sample the food at the wine and food festival
And so u pay for meals there too
Or is it just free samples

It's Disney so you know you'll pay for appetizer portions

I don't know how long the lines are and I don't go on weekends but I'd probably multiply the lines tenfold in comparison to weekdays

If I make it sometime this week, I'll update you but do keep in mind that there are also weekend specific events likes celebrity chefs doing shows (for a fee of $95-$150 iirc) so that adds to the crowd

As for paying for the foods, there are like 6 booths and each portion ranges from $3-$7 (not sure of exact dollar amount) but they do have a Pass where you pay $45 and can get 6 portions but many says that it isn't worth it because by how much each portions cost, you'd be paying more with the $45 than just getting them individually unless you get this one sandwich that cost like $7.50 then you just about even out. I think Disney was trying to pull something with making people think it is like a bargain or you get some sort of discount with it but it really isn't that difficult to figure out it's more of a rip off

i have to check this out.

always liked harry potter, read the books in elementary/middle school

always get crap for liking it, don't care, i like what i like

Universal Studios Hollywood to announce new development next week

Universal Studios Hollywood next week will announce the next step in its ongoing transformation. The park just sent out a press release announcing the announcement, which will happen next Tuesday, June 21, at 7:30am PT on its YouTube channel. (Although, if past practice is any indication of the future, the park will send a release to designated media outlets shortly before that.)

What will the announcement reveal? We know from Universal's "Evolution" site development plans filed with local government that the park has planned a new hotel for near its entrance, as well as a new attraction on the site of its Waterworld show. There's a newly vacated lot next to Transformers on the Lower Lot, awaiting a new attraction installation. And Universal has been tipped to remove other old soundstages near the theme park for conversion to attraction space.

According to a friend somewhat in the know, it is supposed to be an announcement of the second phase of the expansion plan. Things that will reportedly be covered include:
-5 year Lower Lot redevelopment plan
-Revenge of the Mummy closure announcement (closure expected either following Halloween Horror Nights or following winter break)
-Announcement of Secret Life of Pets dark ride
-Possible details on Jurassic World attraction(s)
-Possible details on Nintendo Land (this one is unlikely)
-Modifications to previously announced plans for Upper Lot
-CityWalk expansion plan
-Full announcement of USH Resort Hotel

What will NOT be included in the announcement:
-Any information about Harry Potter Part 2 (these plans are not set in stone yet)
-Any specific information about new attractions for the Upper Lot (word on the street is that Waterworld and Shrek 4-D will be removed within the next few years, but their replacements are not finalized)
-Any Halloween Horror Nights details (this will be a separate announcement at a later time)

We'll see how close this ends up being, but I'm pretty confident we're looking at something along these lines.
