The emeralds are releasing in November. These were out yesterday. Footaction was almost out and doesn't think they're getting any more.

The one I went to didn't even have them on display. I asked for them and he pulled them from the back.

The volt/white are releasing in November, emeralds release in April.....your footaction is selling them earlier than they are supposed to....

Hm. I had read on sneakernews that Oct. 18 was release for these. Marked the date. That's why I went in and asked. Interesting. I guess I lucked out. I woulda missed out had I waited, and for these, I would have paid any reseller price they were asking. These are my Grails. I had the 180 back in the day but never got around to picking these ones up. Been waiting almost 25 years for a pair of these.

Just came from footaction on 34th street in manhattan, nobody in the store floor knew was I was talking about and when I showed a photo they said they didn't know about those. I had to leave at that point, trying out this whole anger management thing.
 
Some on-foot pics. Hard to take em myself.

I never owned the OGs of these. I did have the OG 180s when I was in high school so I feel I can compare them pretty well. The guys who had these and I always checked each other's shoes out, sneakerheads were always sneakerheads, so I feel like I have a good sense of how these compare.

The leather on these feels a tiny bit thinner than what I remember on the OG. It also feels a bit lighter to me than I remember the OG. Then again, there's almost 25 years of memory in the way so I could be wrong. The padding feels great, the liner is soft and feels very good, the colors and materials look and feel very OG to me aside from the things I mentioned.

Here's what's going to be the problem on these. The leather is going to crease, and the plastic type material around the pump and especially on the tongue is going to crease quickly with any wear. It happened with the OGs, too so I cant fault Nike for this.

These were worth 200 for me. I think Nike did a good job on them. They're good quality and feel nice on the feet. As someone who was around for the OGs, I'm very happy with these. I love 'em.

EDIT: And, of course, the pump system is fully functional. I said on this very board, PLEASE Nike, give us a retro with the fully functional pump and I don't CARE what you charge, I'll pay it. They stepped up and did it, so did I. I can only imagine what they'll charge if they ever truly retro the 180 version of these, but there again....Nike, please give us the fully functional 180s and whatever you charge, I'll pay it.

Now I can relax, watch my Panthers beat the Packs & enjoy my Sunday
