🎾 Official Nike Tennis (and other brands as well) Thread

I see i didn't realize they have TC plus and misread your original post

I only watch it during the GS and select tourneys that I'm interested in

I probably wouldn't subscribe to plus though

From what the owner of the local shop told me is that the rationale Nike not wanting to put the branding on ALL the cw's is because they want the average joe or jane pick up the shoe who, may not even play tennis, but ,buy and wear the shoe causally. For the tennis head, we have our favorite player(s) and will buy specifically that player kit. So, that's why nike went all generic and wants to expand the models to the general consumers. You guys notice that Vika or Masha no longer wear women specific shoes. They either wear vapors or LBs. Li na rocks the old cages and Serena wears her old models.
Also, the bidding war is on for Andy Murray. Nike knows Fed is in his twilight ( yeah, it must suck to be top 3 in the world) Nadal still has some years left. So, nike wants to keep another top tener in their stable. Dudes like Del Po and harrison and lower tier players will eventually get cut. Grigor will continue to be a face and likely be the 3rd nike player.
Yeah, that makes sense.  I just wished they had branded the "Night" USO Vapor from this year.  But I can understand the reasoning behind it.

Yeah, that makes sense...

Incidentally, Nick's version doesn't have the RF... which makes sense cuz you wouldn't want to be wearing your competitor's logo...

Even they don't have CF shanks.

This Vapor 9 also had the RF branding on the side:

But if you really like the shoe but don't want the RF, you could always scratch it off, can't be too hard.

Incidentally, Feds does have "RF" on his...

Look how worn his toe-cap is already...

Federer's shoes are made different to the ones the other players and the public wear. The toe drag guards are made of a soft synthetic material designed to last a match but, to give supreme comfort in the to area which should make them feel just like jogging trainers. The second difference is the back of the shoe by the Achilles heel doesn't have the thick cushioned woven area. His shoes also seem to have more lateral support on the sole.

I think if Feds shoes were for retail they would disintegrate within a day or two!

^ Yes, we were just discussing this.  He obvs doesn't need the durability.

ESPN's coverage is horrible. In the middle of the Wawrinka match they're showing us all this promo crap. I don't care what celebrities are there

Damn right they can't be.....those Vapor's are very nice looking tennis shoes but they are as fragile as shoes come!

Fred, did you ever get any actual Fed PE's?

Nah, too pricey for me. The reason I collect Rafa's is because I can actually wear it and scooped them up before the prices sky rocketed! How've you been ?

Federer just came back from two sets down and is leading in the fifth set 2-0 wearing the 9.5s
