Big UPS to SinnerP for starting it up.  I must admit, my Nike roots and initial allegiance began with Agassi and the Court Tech Challenges, so those new shirts and some of the new colorways are absolutely what the doctor ordered.  Am glad to see Nike get back to some of these logos and colorways as they were truly amazing back in the late 80s and early 90s.  I am curious to know if anyone has gotten/worn the 2.3s  or Vapor lunarlites, and what their sentiment is.  I will most definitely get a couple of the tennis ball Ts, and hopefully a pair or two of the nadals.  I really like the new Vapor colorway in light blue/ dark blue, but am hoping they end up on sale somewhere perhaps.  Will have to wait and see.

actually a tennis thread is a great call

liking the nadals way more than the vapours.....that lunar stuff is putting me of them

big thumbs up to the tee's might have to scoop a couple from TW or PWP

they look good and like like the "You can not be serious" McEnroe tee. If i still played tennis i would probably be more excited.

thanks for making this. I'm really feeling those white/orange gradient vapors. Do they have the RF on the back?
edit: just went on TW, they dont have RF on the back. just Nike

Have any of you fellas seen the primarily black Nadal colorway with neon yellow/volt?  Its pretty sweet, but only limited sizes left on NDC.  Didn't see them on Tennis warehouse.  What is PWP if I may ask, and does Holabird still carry many/most tennis shoes?  Have been out of the tennis shoe game for a few years but would like to get back on board.  I have the Vapor 3s in carolina blue and the Nadal 1.3 ballistic in the Neon Pink and blue, but that is the extent of my recent pickups/playing shoes.  Have actually been playing more paddle tennis or platform tennis than reg. tennis recently.   Big here in the midwest and able to play during the winter outside.

You're welcome people.

Bry ~ I haven't played in either the Ballistecs or Vapors, but it appears that the Vapors are lighter and lower to the ground, while the Ballistecs are more stable (heavier) and offer more cushioning/support.  Depends what you're looking for, really.  I'm not sure what black c/w you're referring to, but thats all I've found so far (the black ones with bits of yellow).  As for the tees, its no coincidence that the 2.3's look so similar to the ATC3's.  Its only logical that they made flaming tennis ball tee's.  Nike tennis tee's have run really small in the past so beware.

PWP is www.pwp.com, but they're based out of Europe.  I recommend TW or Midwestsports for your tennis needs.  Holabird used to be the #%& back in the 90's.  Big 2-page ads in Tennis magazine

.  I think (though I may be wrong) Holabird focuses more on golf nowadays.

Khosh ~ I think fed will be wearing a blue outfit for the French... with these vapors.  Not 100% sure though.

Anyway... their most recent outfits...

If I am not mistaken, Lunarlite incorporates Lunarfoam.  Perhaps like a second generation Lunarfoam.  A better take on the original?

I hear you on the shirt sizing.  unfortunately it doesnt look like they go up to 2x.  I saw that NDC has one of the flaming ball shirts as well.

The black colorway I mentioned is the one you posted up above, but I don't see it for sale on TW site.  I think its pretty smooth and simple. Like how the incorporated the neon.

I will post once i find these and cop them.

Anyone able to post pics of these new colors/styles on their feet for 2010 would be greatly appreciated.  As I mentioned earlier, as soon as I get mine, I will gladly post.  Really glad that the Tennis thread is back in effect.  I may be most stoked about this one moving forward.  Kobes are awesome and all, but I really like what I am seeing from Nike Tennis this year so far- A re-birth of sorts if I do say so myself.  Not completely back from the glory years but a decent starting point-  Would be nice to see a young American rise up and wear the swoosh in the next few years.

^ Like you said, probably 90% of the people here are interested / play basketball, so naturally tennis is way down on the list. The 2009 tennis thread had some decent interest, but I didn't bother to make one this year simply cuz the interest isn't really there. Lets hope I'm wrong.

To be honest, I don't think anyone's bought the latest tennis kicks. Fred (T21D) bought Rafa's pink Ballistec's last year, but I have yet to see him wear those... or anyone post some tennis kicks in the Pick-up thread.

Young Americans? You guys are out of luck right now... Donald Young was supposed to be the next big thing, but that hasn't panned out. Its supposed to be Roddick and Blake right now, but they've massively underachieved. There was also Robby Ginepri, but I don't know what happened to him. Its hard to top the Europeans now.

Unfortunately, you are correct on the American Men's side I think for up and comers.  I am sure at some point, someone new will emerge, but Blake is oft-injured and Roddick has been underwhelming at times.  It seems like his new coach and new mentality may be helping him out though, and who knows, maybe he wins a slam this year.  It would be cool if the Bryan bros. in doubles were Nike sponsored but I believe they are Adidas and most folks couldn't give a rip about doubles anyways, so there is little money to be made there.

Remember when there were Agassi sigs, Sampras Sigs, Courier Sigs, and Chang was with Reebok Pump, etc...Hell even second tier Americans had some clothing/shoe deals, albeit smaller brands, but it was cool.  Tennis was pretty exciting to watch and there were some personalities following up McEnroe and Connors.  I hated Connors, but he was good for Tennis to some degree.  Then the Euros with Lendl, Edberg, Muster, Becker, and their Adidas, Fila, and Lotto!  wow, how things have changed quite a bit.  Tennis is pretty much Nike and adidas, with a few other exceptions, and most of the stuff up until recently has been pretty bland.  I am glad they are bringing back some neons, brighter colors, and incorporating the new technology.  I saw those French Open Nadals last year, and instead went with the Blue/Pink with the Rafa Bull on the instep.  Haven't worn yet, as I am still using my Vapor 3s in carolina blue/obsidian.  I really like those quite a bit, but also like playing in trainers, trainer 1s, air trainer max 91s, etc...  Sorry to ramble.  It seems as if you know tennis well, so I figured I would share a little bit.  Hopefully others feel free to chime in on this thread.

the problem is that almost all of the upcoming stuff is out and on sites like tennis connected and TW message boards

They still carry tennis stuff and probably the cheapest online. I was first excited about the court ballastic's but all they did was change the CW from last season. A bit bulky out of the box unlike the Vapors. I'm not sold on the lunar technology on the Vapors after trying them on the trainers.

yeah.  Looks like Midwest Sports has the mostly blacks with volt colorway on sale, but only in 11.5 which is close to my 11.  Problem is, in my experience these run big and bulky so I would almost err on the small side as opposed to bigger if I were to purchase.  There is a Euro site with a sick t-shirt for the french open that references the courtballistic with the French colorway shoe on it.  will post pic later if I can find it again.  T21D, I agree, the Vapor 3 to me is a superior court shoe than the courtballistic, however, I don't play tennis daily anymore as I used to.  If I did, I would have to think that the courtballistic would be a pretty good bet due to the materials and construction.  I appreciate the thought involved in the design and would wear it casually but probably stick to the vapor line for Tennis purposes non-competitive or irregularly.

I still think the air zoom breathe cage 1 is one of the best Nike tennis shoes ever made. Mines still going strong after 3 years....

^ Yeah... I'd go back even further to the Zoom Breathe Free's and the Air Max Breathe Free 2's... those were immensely popular with the tennis community as well as the pros.

Anyway, I think for Nike, the tennis lines we saw back then and what we have now are relatively similar.  Each of their top 2 guys had their own line with the rest of the sponsored players wearing 'team' stuff.  Back then, there were guys wearing the Air Tech Challenges, but not in Agassi's c/w.  The same for Sampras/Courier with the Supreme Court line.  Specifically, I remember David Wheaton initially wearing some white/pink/blue ATC 3's and later switching to the Supreme Court line.  Same thing now, we have players wearing either the Vapors or Ballistecs, but just not Fed or Rafa's shirts or c/w's.
Instead, I think the Euro brands have really stepped back, other than Adidas of course.  I loved Edberg's Adi shirts from the early 90's.  The Adi shirts nowadays look so generic.  Lotto, Fila, Sergio Tacchini all have a few guys, but it seems like they're just not focusing on tennis like they did in the 90's.  Reebok had some decent shirts/kicks in the 90's but have since gone to plain tees with a Reebok logo.  What can I say, the money just isn't in tennis nowadays.

I played in the Cage 1's for a year or so, but have since switched to the Zoom Tennis Trainer (aka Zoom Trainer 1).  Zoom support, XDR outsole and its a mid-cut.  Can't go wrong.
