🎾 Official Nike Tennis (and other brands as well) Thread

Did anyone see how Nadal's shoelace broke while he took a nasty tumble against Nishi the other night?

Thought the way it broke was really strange, haven't seen anything like it.

Side note: What does Nadal have in his bag, if not another pair of shoes?

How is that in any way ironic?

Nike seems to come out with a particular cw, applies it to a shoe, and then All the sports shoes get the same treatment. e.g.The CB 4.3's first came out in the gamma cw, then JB follows suit.

Another view of the LB's during a training session.

^ those are so nice. Is that real flywire or is that pair phoney also?

Sports Authority has a 20% off your entire purchase sale going on. It expires today but it works on LBs and 9.5s.

^ Yeah, there was a close-up pic of his practice which showed the Fauxwire.

Anyway...

Thanks homie. I ended with both.
Just to note and I hope you did, the Lunar Ballistecs run long.

I would suggest you to size down from your "true" size.

Many reviews have noted this and have recommended others the same.

I think you might be able to return them free of charge so that's great.

Update us on how they both compare!

That isn't irony at all. Coincidental, maybe, but not ironic in any sense of the word.

This one's tricky cuz they run long, but width is normal-to-narrow.  I tried them on in the store and felt that if I had gone 1/2 down, it would have been too narrow for me.  Tricky, but if I do get them, I might end up with my true size.

Oh wow that's really interesting. Wouldn't surprise me if Nadal shared similar complaints about them.

Thanks for the info, I guess I better try them on first before I pull the trigger on them.

Nah, Rafa's are completely custom... doubt this would have been an issue for him.

Touché. Completely went over my head on that one. Have you played with either of the new releases? I would love to hear your opinions on either.

^ Actually, I've been playing in the Zoom Tennis Trainers over the past few years.

My last "current" tennis shoe (thought the ZTT's are an updated model) were the Air Max Breathe Cage from a bunch of years ago.

I prefer a mid-cut, but all the current ones are lows.

Oh wow, I haven't seen one of those in ages.

You're old school.

I still have my Air Max Breathe Cage IIs in the closet.

Love the fit, but court feel and lightweight is number 1 for me so I tend to gravitate towards the new lows.

Haha, it's not *that* old school!  The ZTT retros came out in '08!

They're getting a little worn-down now, so I'm gonna have to start looking for new ones.

Haha, I was hesitant, didn't want to insinuate at your age.

A little worn might be an understatement if they're older than a 5 year old!

At least they'll be cheap as rocks I hope.

I think I'm definitely in the higher-end of the age range on NT.

Does that make me OG?

Actually, I bought 2 pairs of ZTT's back in '08!  These are my 2nd pair!   If I can find another pair on ebay, I wouldn't hesitate on getting them!

For those with both, Vapor Tour 9 clays have no midfoot "plate" like the hardcourt versions? I am looking to grab another pair possibly but the one I am looking at has herringbone through the midportion of the sole. Just wanna make sure that its legit.
Thanks in advance.

Snap a pic of those ZTTs SinnerP. I am 38 btw, which may make me a senior citizen on NT. 8)

^^^ Correct, most clay court shoes have a continuous outer sole, no midfoot plate. Used to have multiple pairs of the Zoom Oscillate clay, great shoe.

any rumors of an oscillate retro? my all time fave.

I haven't heard anything about a retro but I'm pretty sure this is the longest gap since the last time they were released (2006 if I remember correctly). You would think they're due up for a retro but I remember them sitting and hitting clearance on the main tennis sites.
