How do they measure hand size @ the NFL combine?

I've heard about Clausen supposedly having small hands and impacting his stock, which i understand. 
Just Curious about how they measure them

wouldnt they do it from bottom of the palm to the finger too?
or am i just making that up?

they measure by seeing if their hands are bigger than their faces.

Yeah, its palm to the tip of middle finger.
