News On Future Films Based on Comics/Paranormal/Sci-Fi

I still think the last Hobbit will still do good numbers and can reach that $300m mark for the year.

The years just been full of surprises and I think the Hobbit being underrated or not as hyped will result in a surprise box office numbers.

Just the action, dragon and war alone and it leading to LoTR and being the last film in the whole series, ever is enough I think. I mean do they even have any other plans to make a movie from this series anymore? Is there another book before the Hobbit and after RotK? The Hobbit trilogy supposedly has parts of Silmarillion integrated to it, no?

Edit: Looking it up, looks like there's still Unfinished Tales and Children of Hurin but I am not sure they'd actually make a book or stretch a trilogy out of that. Then again WB can be very desperate so we'll see.

History of Middle-Earth seems to consist of mostly short stories?

I don't think so. In the Hobbit, when Gandalf is mentioning the wizards in his order, he mentions the 2 blue wizards but doesn't say their names, but since they are in the similar on and the family still owns it/won't let it be made into movies. theres some interesting stuff in it, more interesting than the Hobbit for sure

Just finished watching Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Excellent movie. If Marvel crafted perfection, this was it. From start to finish, I was captivated by what was on screen. On a related note, why can't Falcon be in Avengers 2 fighting alongside them? The film has now established that he's Cap's right hand man.

Marvel really is 2 for 2 this year. Cap 2 was perfect. GotG was pretty good. Avengers 2 is up next and I'm hyped!

I read at CBM that the last 2 Marvel films that came out in May (Avengers & IM3) had their trailers debut in October.

Thor1 came out in May as well but the trailer for that debuts in December of 2010.

Edit: Winter Soldier that came out in April of this year had it's trailer debut in October too.

Guardians was....good. But I'm a little let down. I had HIGH hopes for the film and visually it was stunning but came off very cheesy. It also peaked 30 mins in after showing thanos. The guardians are lame in the comics but I thought the movie would make them a little more heroic. Eh

Also don't sleep on Ninja Turtles :nerd: the turtles have resurrected themselves for the perfect storm of kids who are obsessed with them right now and adults who are obsessed with the idea that they are just as cool as ever again

These rules were proposed earlier this year

Not sure if they ever got passed but one of those movie youtube channels were acting as if it were confirmed new rules.

Yeah. They started in the beginning of May. So about 3 months. It's probably going to be a really cgi heavy movie

Not expecting much from the new Fantastic Four movie... sadly
At first I wasn't but I have faith in Trank. I felt the same way about chronicle. From the previews I thought it was gonna be a crappy Akira rip off. I won't go into the akira part but I think Chronicle was very well done.

They're trying to get the director of Bridesmaids to direct Ghostbusters 3 and make it about a female Ghostbusters cast.

'Ghostbusters 3' Targets Paul Feig as Director

UPDATED: Sources say the film will be a reboot focusing on female Ghostbusters.

After a long search, Sony is zeroing in on a director for Ghostbusters 3, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Paul Feig, director of Bridesmaids and The Heat, has emerged as the frontrunner, according to sources, and Feig has shown interest in taking on the project. Sources caution that no formal negotiations have taken place and a lot must be worked out before the casual discussions turn serious and Feig accepts the job. But he is the studio's first choice, these sources said. Sony declined to comment.

Sources say the film will be a reboot focusing on female Ghostbusters.

The long in-development sequel previously had Ivan Reitman, the director of 1984's original Ghostbusters and 1989's Ghostbusters II, attached.

On March 18, Reitman exited the project and a new search for a helmer began. Several websites indicated that 22 Jump Street directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller were in line for the job but those reports were inaccurate.

The original script was by Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg -- writers of NBC's The Office and the 2011 comedy Bad Teacher -- and has been revised following the death of original castmember Harold Ramis on Feb. 24.

The story introduces new Ghostbusters and hands the baton from at least a couple of the originals. Dan Aykroyd has said he will return but Bill Murray has not committed.

Feig is also directing the action comedy Spy, starring Melissa McCarthy, for a Memorial Day 2015 release.

They should just hire Michael bay to direct and cast a Victoria Secret models cast. Make Slimer a green robot that slobbers all over the cast, have giant robot suits to catch ghosts and it's a billion dollar movie!

I don't care anymore about Ghostbusters.

Son is dead so this other sequel don't matter and I don't care for this spinoff/all female remake or w/e it is.

Don't even hurt me. Similar to Ninja Turtles.

I'll just peep this stuff years after it comes out on tv.
