News On Future Films Based on Comics/Paranormal/Sci-Fi

Makes sense to introduce Bats and to have a WB film this year so the wait isn't so bad.

Can anyone go to the wesbsite posted in the photo? I can't read it.

Latino-Review have scored a cracking X-Men: Apocalypse scoop, revealing which young stars are being eyed for the roles of Cyclops, Jean Grey, and Storm in the 2016 movie. A shortlist emerged late last year of course, but here's a new one for you!

For Scott Summers, Taron Edgerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service), Jamie Blackley (If I Stay), and Tye Sheridan (Mud) are all being considered.

Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones) and Saoirse Ronan (Hanna) are being looked at for Jean Grey, but with the latter missing out on roles in Avengers: Age of Ultron and Star Wars: The Force Awakens, is she interested in a big franchise like the X-Men?

Regardless, we also have news on Storm, as Alexandra Shipp (Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B) and Zendaya Coleman (K.C Undercover) are both possible candidates.

Off @ElMayimbe's X-MEN scoop, I'll say I have heard that MUD star Tye Sheridan is the frontrunner to play Cyclops. Chloe passed on Jean Grey

Saorise Ronan is not attractive to me. Marvel can cast a better looking Marvel Girl. All this Lupita talk but she would've the perfect 80's Storm (please put in the Mohawk, Singer)

:wow: at the BVS news. That would be a huge power move for DC and WB to pull

Saoirse was looking decent in The Host. Would've gave her the business. Weird to think she was that evil girl in Atonement. Juno Temple was in Atonement too. Love that crazy looking girl.

Lupita Nyongo is far too good for any Fox Marvel project. Even Days of Future Past isnt on the level of **** she should be doin. If she should be anybody, it's Shuri.
EDIT: Also Soairse can get it with ease.

I have a problem with lightskin Storm

i know it's nitpicking but if they're gonna relaunch the character i'd like them to do it right this time..

Actually, i wouldn't mind if they got the girl from Annie to play young Storm, even though she's like 12

Depending on what you consider dark skinned, 1. She aint even that dark in most comics. Depends on the artist tho. 2. There arent that many dark skinned actresses out there because when the casting director is looking for a black role, they are looking for light or fair skinned women.

Again that depends on what you consider dark skinned cuz I know someone in this thread will purposefully pretend not to understand what I just said.

Using Jim Lee's version of storm as the definitive storm, she lightskinned.

cartoon version of her is also not what I would consider dark.

Those are the two most recognizable versions of her.

ehh I see.. that's basically the same complexion as the jawn from the Aaliyah flick

maybe i'm just being like this because they're both

as actresses

 black twitter and black vine had a field day with that Aaliyah movie

Wendy Williams had to have been crying the entire weekend.

I didnt see it so I cant judge, but I have yet to hear anything positive about the movie. srs. Not one thing.

There are depictions of storm that are dark tho but for A+ execution I would focus on girls with more African features than their skin tone. Dont care how dark or light she is in the movie.

I dont know how far removed Naomie Harris is from her African Heritage, but if they are going for mid 20s age range she would be one of my top choices. She can pass off as someone from eastern Africa which is considered by many to have the most beautiful black africans. Ethopia especially:

Naomie Harris:

She might need a stylized mohawk since her head is might not shaped for a traditional one if they go the 80s mohawk route.

EDIT: Also isnt storm supposed to be older than the Original 5?

Nah, they seem to be going with the late teens angle for the 3 characters. Harris is too old.

Anyway, the guy from kingsman looks the part of Scott but I'd have to hear his american accent first

Sansa can't act at all and Ronan is too plain IMO.

Kid from Kingsman should play Bobby Drake

And wow a two parter BvS movie? I'm for it but didn't they say they didn't want to give Batman his own movie just yet to turn around and do it technically anyway? I'll more than likely enjoy it so its whatever

A batman film during Halloween :wow:

If this is true DC made a power play.

DC having two films out after Avengers 2 and before Cap 3 :wow: :wow:

Now Im not sure which one I want him to play. Id rather be bobby drake if they make him as op as he should be. Also I have only ever like borderline terrorist Cyclops. All other versions of him are okay at best.

After Ant-Man as well. They get to set up their universe before Phase 3, while Marvel is on break. Didnt even think of that.

I like all the actresses rumored for Jean Grey. Loved Ronan in Hanna and Turner looks like she's really going to be coming into her own in the next season of GoT. Elle Fanning has been a favorite of mine since Somewhere and Super 8 and Hailee Steinfeld is great in everything she's in.

I'm still kind of bummed that they're going back to the 80's. I really wanted to see someone like Jessica Chastain as Jean Grey.

And as for BvS, if a Part I is released in 2015, that would be mind blowing.

Take it for what it's worth....

Matthew Vaughn ("X-Men: First Class") is currently doing press for his latest comic book movie Kingsman: The Secret Service. While chatting with Flickering Myth, Vaughn revealed that he has seen Josh Trank's Fantastic Four reboot. “I’ve seen the movie, it’s good,” Vaughn said. “I thought Chronicle was a fantastic movie and [Josh] Trank has gone off and done his version of Fantastic Four. If you like Chronicle, then you’ll like this. We’re all backing Josh Trank’s vision. And hopefully the world will like Josh Trank’s vision.”

Avatar 2 delayed til late 2017 as well.

Today in New Zealand, director James Cameron ("The Terminator") was at an event promoting the local film industry along with his friend and fellow director Peter Jackson ("The Hobbit"). During the event, Cameron revealed that his original plan to have Avatar 2 in theaters by late 2016 was too ambitious, so he decided to push its release date to late 2017. The reason? Cameron chose to be aggressive, writing all of the scripts for the three planned Avatar sequels at the same time. "We're writing three simultaneously." Cameron continued, "And we've done that so that everything tracks throughout the three films. We're not just going to do one and then make up another one and another one after that. And parallel with that, we're doing all the design. So we've designed all the creatures and the environments."
