News On Future Films Based on Comics/Paranormal/Sci-Fi

It's a comedy though and it's one thing he has proven he could do real well. Surprisingly.

I just can't see him as a Ghostbuster.

Wonder who else they will cast?

There is going to be 8 Ghostbusters in this new universe. They all can't be in NY, so will we see West coast Ghostbusters?

Hopefully they don't just cast actors that match the all female Ghostbusters.

Would end up with Kevin James (Melissa McCarthy), Kenan Thompson (Leslie Jones), Channing Tatum (Kate McKinnon), Bill Hader (Kristen Wiig)

I dunno....seems like they're trying to do too much.

Whats next a Teen Ghostbusters?

Probably shouldn't have said that....:smh:

I think you just have to not see it as the original Ghostbusters and take it as it is, Tatum is likely going to play a new character and not as a reboot of someone that already exist so I am not sure how you can't see him as a Ghostbuster. There isn't really precedence on how to be one.

Based on the hacks, I believe they mentioned him doing it with Chris Pratt? I mean I have faith on it being produced by the Russos alone and everybody loves Pratt these days so if he is involved then it could actually be watchable.

Somebody put Drew Peace in the GhostTrap, cross the streams if u gotta, just keep him away from this movie

Was just mentioning Pratt joining and then this reports pops up:

Chris Pratt Could Join The GHOSTBUSTERS Expanded Universe

And there could be up to four films planned right now.

After I read Mike Fleming's Deadline piece about the new 'guy-centric' Ghostbusters I knew something was weird. Either Sony had ****** up the franchise or they had ****** up the announcement - only one of those two things made sense. So I got in touch with some of the Sony folks I know and started asking questions. What I found out was pretty incredible.

First of all, this new Ghostbusters movie isn't all-male. It isn't 'guy-centric.' I spoke to three different people who were baffled as to where that came from. But it does have some guys at the center - the concept here is a movie that spins out of the chemistry between real-life friends Channing Tatum and Chris Pratt. This isn't a case of 'everybody wants Chris Pratt in their movie,' this is a case of these two guys being pals and wanting to make this movie together.

As for the movie itself: it's complementary to the Paul Feig film. This isn't a sudden reboot or a change of course. The plan is to have this new Ghostbusters universe feel big and have the kind of tonal variety that allows there to be a legitimate shared universe, not just a whole bunch of franchises running in tandem. What's more, the hope is that after Feig's Ghostbusters is out and after Tatum's Ghostsbusters is out the next film will see the two teams co-mingling, Avengers-style. This is planned out, and has been getting planned out for some time - it's not a sudden change of heart at Sony. The idea is that this shared universe will allow Feig to do his thing, Reitman and the Russos and Drew Pearce to do their thing, and for them to cross over when they must. I was kind of confused by the ending of the Feig/Katie Dippold script, but knowing that there's a planned universe growing out of that ending everything makes a lot more sense now.

That's three films - in my subhead I mentioned four. What I'm hearing is that this new Ghostbusters universe will also have a prequel movie, which will take place before either of these two announced films. When before? Beats me - but it will have nothing to do with the original Ghostbusters characters. As Reitman said in his Deadline interview, the rights issues with those characters are too complex (the human characters, anyway. Expect some famous ghosts to show up). I don't know when this prequel is set - relatively recent or colonial times or what - but it's all part of the larger picture.

I think the key here is that while it's the Ghostbusters universe, not every movie has to be about people busting ghosts. Talking to my sources it's become clear that 'Ghostbusters' is going to be the catch-all umbrella for a world of supernatural FX comedies. That world will truly become clear in the team-up film. If the plan for almost yearly Ghostbusters movies holds, these four - the all-female, the Channing/Pratt, the crossover and the prequel - definitely provide a base to rotate annually between tones and concepts.

Is it going to work? Now that I know the Tatum/Russo/Pearce movie isn't a boys-only film, and now that I know that there's some actual planning going on in terms of how these films interact, I feel pretty good about it all. Do I feel good enough to lose the Russos from Infinity War? Here's hoping that there's a way they can keep one foot in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Why wouldnt it be an all male team after they form an all girl team?

Makes sense to if they will be teaming up in the future

Tatum n pratt in a comedy would be hilarious

So..if you Tatum is in it....you know who coming with him..

Why yall acting like the Ghostbusters are some untouchable group? or there's some set of qualifications that need to be met?

Look at the crop of famous gettable actors for a remake/sequel like this and Tatum is pretty much par for the course. If anything he's a big get. They could've been left with the likes of dude from John Carter or the first dude that played Gambit being the pretty boy of the group.

Tron 2 was one of the most disappointing movies i've watched. I was hyped to see it and it turned out to be so damn boring. Someone fell asleep in the theater I was watching it at and I almost fell asleep too.

I never read Powers but know the premise well enough and like with other indie comics I'm waiting for Bendis to be done with it before I read it and I gotta say I've been following this being made in to a show cuz I'm a Bendis fan and it feels like he shopped this around a lot and either places didn't want it or he wanted a certain amount of creative control and had to settle for some station on psn which doesn't feel in anyway like what netflix or amazon are doing with streaming series.

I gotta say for that a few other reasons I have no urge to watch it at all even though the 1st ep is free everywhere online

Syfy channel quality isn't helping either

Chances are you won't remember the original '70s Saturday morning TV show, but Legendary and Fullscreen have rebooted Electra Woman and Dyna Girl as a new web series, with YouTube stars Grace Helbig and Hannah Hart as the crime-fighting duo.

Tron 3 starts filming in October.

Can't wait because I'm a huge Tron fan and I loved Legacy. I thought it was a good movie regardless of what critics and most people thought.

So far Garret Hedlund is set to be back as Sam and I'm sure Olivia Wilde will be back as Quorra. Then Bruce and maybe Cilian Murphy?

Don't know who those youtube chicks are since I don't spend much time on that site.

Was Tron ever really that good that you guys were that disappointed in Tron 2? :nerd:
