Disney Not Moving Forward With 'Tron 3' (Exclusive)

Tron 3 won't be coming to a theater near you.

Disney has chosen not to move forward with a third installment in the sci-fi series, sources say. While sources say the project was never officially greenlit, earlier this year it seemed that things were moving ahead with Tron:Legacy helmer Joseph Kosinski returning to direct and stars Olivia Wilde and Garrett Hedlund reprising their roles.

Prep had been started on the third film, and production was looking to shoot this fall, likely in Vancouver, British Columbia. Disney had been interested in adding Jared Leto to the cast, but an offer and negotiations had never commenced.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson to Star in ‘Big Trouble in Little China’ Remake (Exclusive)

20th Century Fox is excited about a new take from “X-Men: First Class” writers Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is in negotiations to star in and produce a remake of John Carpenter‘s cult classic “Big Trouble in Little China” that will be written by “X-Men: First Class” scribes Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz, multiple individuals familiar with the project have told TheWrap.
A representative for 20th Century Fox did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Johnson is making a deal to play Jack Burton, an all-American trucker who gets dragged into a centuries-old mystical battle in San Francisco’s Chinatown.

Johnson and his 7 Bucks Entertainment producing partners Dany and Hiram Garcia pitched the remake to rights-owner Fox, which released the original film. “Big Trouble in Little China” is one of Johnson’s favorite movies, and Miller and Stentz have already closed a deal to write the script.

The original 1986 starring Kurt Russell and Kim Cattrall only grossed $11 million at the domestic box office, but it is revered as a cult classic and a cable TV staple that fans can’t resist watching from when it airs.

Surprised tron 3 is scrapped. I was so disappointed in the second one though. So boring someone fell asleep in the theater and I almost fell asleep too.

Lookin forward to the remake of some of these remakes.

We're about one or two favors away from them remaking The Matrix. Serious. :smh:

Tom hardy as Neo this time around. With the way the matrix trilogy ended I am in favor of a remake. That last movie was garbage.

I'M ALL IN FOR ANOTHER MATRIX MOVIE. THE MATRIX TRILOGY ARE MY FAVORITE MOVIES OF ALL TIME FOLLOWED BY STAR WARS.

I DON'T WANT A REMAKE THOUGH. I WANT THEM TO CONTINUE THE STORY. THE LORE IN THAT UNIVERSE IS JUST :wow:

They were on track to do it but after Cloud Atlas and Jupiter ascending no one wants to give them money anymore

technically why do they even need to do a remake.. Within that story everything is continuous anyways..

This is just a new iteration of the cycle.. Something goes wrong which triggers things again.. And they have to find the new one

The first Matrix film still looks good to me :frown:

Haven't seen the sequels in years though so I don't remember how they look

I still think Reloaded is the superior film, just the OG has the "first time" sentiment attached to it.

The Smiths fight, his warm-up fight with Seraf, the freeway chase, the Chateu (sp), the Merovingian (sp) and for the love of God his girl Persephone (sp), the twins, the music, the Architect. All of that was greatness and upgraded over the first.

Revolutions was the huge letdown to me. Only the final battle was solid, like 10-12 minutes, that's it. :smh:

Yeah I think Revolutions tainted Reloaded for me slightly. I truly was disappointed but I got over it. I think I was disappointed because I didn't give 2 ****es about Zion. Battle started and I was like "Why prolong this? We know they need Neo to do what he does. This is pointless..."
