Michael Bay Is Turning The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Into Aliens For The New Movie Reboot

Just in case you didn't hate him enough after the Transformers series seemingly got worse with each new installment, Michael Bay's production team, Platinum Dunes, will be turning the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles into aliens for 2013's movie reboot.

According to Stuff We Like, Bay said this at a Nickelodeon event in New York, "When you see this movie, kids are going to believe, one day, that these turtles actually do exist when we are done with this movie. These turtles are from an alien race and they are going to be tough, edgy, funny and completely lovable."

Instead of making them mutated turtles like they have been since the beginning, Mr. Bay is turning the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles into beings from another planet. Why is he doing this? Because he's Michael Bay. He turned the Transformers movies into two-and-a-half hours of racist, toilet humor, so this shouldn't come as much of a surprise.

The new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie will be directed by Wrath of the Titan's Jonathan Liebesman, and is scheduled to be released on December 25, 2013.

I think a lot of us want to see how it would look but odds are it would look ridiculous.  
 
TDKR needs to crank it up with teasers and a new trailer, not even a single viral going on for this film and it's coming out in a few months.

Just noticed this too. Seems odd, there isn't a lot of promo for this film.
 
Guess they feel it'll do #s off the name alone. I'm sure they'll cook up something a month before it drops.
 
With the Hunger Games making $155mil this past weekend, just $3mil below TDKs Box Office numbers, it got me thinking can it beat Harry Potters $169mil weekend record? I know this one doesn't have Batmans biggest villain yet but this being the last make it the most anticipated so I think chances are good it'll make more than $169mil but again the lack of advertisements/virals might affect it's numbers. I guess we'll see.


Also, to those thinking the Avengers will break this record, with Hunger Games being unable to do it (albeit very close), I just don't see the Avengers making pass TDK numbers at all. I predict $130mil-$140mil the first weekend for the Avengers.

Still I'm going in with not real confident.

I heard TDKR has a rough cut that is around 4 hours probably more. I hope Nolan lets it be 4 hours with an intermission.
 
just saw john carter.. not going lie, i enjoyed it..


i really think the marketing for the film hurt it.. nothing in the trailers looked as cool as they did on the big screen..




with the money it's making overseas, there's a chance the sequels might actually happen
 
It sooo good; it sucks that the reviews spend more time talking about the money lost than telling people how enjoyable it is.

SyFy was thinking about making it a new tv series but they changed their minds.  They might have it as a web series as they originally planned.  They better do something.

The new Battlestar Galactica doesn't get much love on this forum but it was one of my favorite shows and was a great sci-fi series.
