AMC is doing the show dirty with the budget they are giving TWD.

if it wasnt for the strong backing of the comics the show itself might not be doing so well considering the long drawn out season 2.

hes couldve gone to any company with ToT , but i guess hes showing loyalty

10M+ people don't read The Walking Dead. #%+$ 10M+ don't read comics -- PERIOD if you've ever talked to anyone who works in the comic book industry.

BUT the series made people interested in the comics.

regardless of the fact, AMC needs to put more money and effort into TWD.

they have the juice to have some of the better TV line ups in a while with Mad Men, Breaking Bad, TWD and i heard the killing wasnt that bad either.

For what though? What kind of giant set pieces do they need besides The Prison? The books bill themselves as "An Ongoing Story of Survival and Horror" -- it isn't about fight after fight with zombies. The format has always been: The group finds a place they think is safe - The form a tenuous alliance with the locals - They clash - Zombies arrive - They flee - Repeat. They already have the best makeup effects on the Walkers, they don't need much else but tighter scripting.

your gonna sit there and tell me season 2 didnt drag?

honestly?

plus they got cheap with the walkers, i understand the whole basis of the comics/series its about surviving in a steady environment and not straight smash and dash like most zombie movies, but they can get deeper into character development, the farm arc took way tooo long.

Reread my last sentence: I explicitly said that they need tighter scripting. That has to do with their writers not how much money they're throwing at special effects.

Guardians of the Galaxy movie in development from Marvel studios

From CraveOnline

When asked about which non-sequel projects Marvel Studios was prioritizing at the moment, Feige said, "I think whether it's Ant-Man, or Dr. Strange, or The Inhumans, or The Guardians of the Galaxy..."

To which we eagerly cried, "Rocket Racooooon...!"

"We are very excited about bringing things like that, maybe things exactly like that, to the screen. [...] When you tell people, you know what would be really cool? This movie, and there's a raccoon, and there's a tree... And they go, 'What?' And people like you know what it is, and get excited. And the majority of people go, 'Did you say a raccoon and a tree?' 'Oh yeah, they're going to steal the whole movie. They're hilarious.' 'Okay, I'll believe it when I see it.' I like that."

This is one of the few Marvel books I read in the past few years. DnA! Raygun Gothic! Rocket Raccoon! Groot!

I'd like a Inhumans and Dr. Strange movie but I really like GOG so they'd have to get that right. Might be a bit early so their enemies may end up only being ones that were created during their run. Not sure they'd get away with having Kree, Skrull, Neg Zone, etc. interaction.

In a way similar to first class, when Marvel gets the rights to all of their heroes they should do a Secret Wars or Infinity Gauntlet movie.

That was crazy. I'm assuming they've added some sort of magnet to Cap's gauntlet?

Man just watching the Prometheus trailer gives me goosebumps. Can't wait... Can't wait... I CAN'T WAIT!!!

Good news about Iron Man 3
In news that should probably help him ignore those Lockout reviews, at least, Guy Pearce has beenconfirmed to join the ever-expanding cast of Iron Man 3, the pre-production of which we have to admit, has really been moving at a much faster, more efficient rate now that it’s been partially outsourced to China. Workers who are certainly of legal age and have had plenty of rest will insert Pearce into the film in the role of Aldrich Killian, creator of the Extremis nanotechnology serum that's loosed upon the world after Killian sells it to terrorists. As readers of the Warren Ellis-scripted books know [SPOILER ALERT] Killian spends most of the storyline dead, suggesting either that the script takes plenty of liberties, or Pearce is going to have a super easy shooting schedule.

Bad news about the Lobo movie

Warner Bros. has hired Brad Peyton, who helmed the hit family adventure "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island," to direct and rewrite "Lobo," the live-action movie based on DC Comics' ultraviolent intergalactic bounty hunter,Deadline reports.

Guy Ritchie had been attached to direct the adaptation in late 2009 but left the project to develop the blockbuster "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows." Don Payne ("Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer," "Thor") wrote the most recent draft. Joel Silver and Akiva Goldsman are producing.

Created by Roger Slifer and Keith Giffen, Lobo debuted in 1983's "Omega Men" #3 as a self-centered villain with a penchant for mindless violence, but he gained popularity in the 1990s as a parody of Wolverine, Punisher and other anti-heroes. Although Lobo has appeared in animated form on "Superman: The Animated Series," "Justice League" and "Legion of Super Heroes," this would mark his live-action, and big-screen, debut.

Payne's PG-13 script reportedly followed Lobo as he pursued four fugitives to Earth, where he partnered with a teenaged girl to stop them. Whether any of that will remain in Peyton's rewrite is, naturally, unknown at this point.
