News On Future Films Based on Comics/Paranormal/Sci-Fi

Of all the avengers I want to see, Quicksilver ain't one of them. Truth be told super speed just doesn't look that cool in Movies.

Cap
Thor
Hulk
Iron Man
Hawkeye
Black Widow (hated her in the movie, you got real superheros using they powers and this broad loading up a 9mm :rolleyes)

Add in Falcon, Black Panther, Dr Strange, Luke cage and since they got DareDevil back through him in and call it a day. I mean this is movies we're talking about after a minute its just too many superheros for a 2 hour movie.

But Hawkeye got a bow and arrow

Agree with the rest you said though.

True but Hawkeye was sick with his arrows, dude was throwing bombs out there

Scarlett Johansson IS a mutant power...

I'm glad fox pulled a girl move and cast quicksilver. Now avengers 2 can actually have some avengers that matter....like black knight

X-men is gonna be a convoluted mess. They have the cast from 2 different movies, introducing new characters, and using time travel. Good luck with that. Quicksilver and any of the new mutants will be cameos and easter eggs and not full fledged characters. I'm betting he wont even have any lines in the movie.

this is gonna be wolverine all over again

I wanna see Miss Marvel in one of the Avengers movies. I saw a hot blond dress up as her for Comic-Con. Good lord. Still mad they're making this new Avengers cartoon when the old one was really good.

sooooooooooooooooooo which one do you guys think it is:

A) fox is doing it to screw with marvel/avengers a little bit since whedon's comments

OR

B) whedon and co got slick and bluffed fox into forcing another character into an already crowded movie (that is based on a pretty convoluted story.. which doesnt need more characters taking away from the 1) the story they are trying to tell and/or 2) the characters they need to introduce to pull off the story)

Said a while back that this movie would be too cluttered and with the addition of Quicksilver and most likely Scarlet Witch, it gets even muddier.

Now its likely they won't be in Avengers 2, but that's what you get for revealing your cards before the other studio plays their hand.

With that said, this provides an opportunity for Falcon or a lesser character to get a bigger role in the next installment.

Agreed on Black Widow. What was her purpose besides looking scrumptious in that catsuit?

Joss Whedon Talks Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver in The Avengers 2

Joss Whedon was a guest on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" last night and Fallon tried to get a scoop out of the filmmaker about Marvel's The Avengers 2.

He asked whether there are new characters and Whedon replied, "There are new characters. I've already said that we're going to have a brother-sister team, the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, who were great mainstays of The Avengers when I was reading the comics as a kid."

Fallon said that he did not know the characters and then asked whether they had started casting them yet. Whedon said, "Not yet, we're doing that now."

Whedon said he is writing the sequel now and then was asked why he picked the two characters. He said, "well, besides the fact that I grew up reading them, their powers are very visually interesting. One of the problems I had on the first one was, everybody basically had punchy powers. 'I can hit,' 'I can also hit.' Hopefully it didn't get too boring. But coming into the second one, he's got super speed. She can weave spells and a little telekinesis, get inside your head. There’s good stuff that they can do that will help sort of keep it fresh."

After watching that ultimate avengers cartoon movie on Netflix I feel a little cheated realizing they took the chi'tari threat straight from that cartoon movie :smh:

 What?

I know everybody has their own fav avengers but damn. You know they aint bringing in no Black Knight if they pass on Magneto's kids. Probably add in Cap/Ms. Marvel, Spider-Woman, etc. basically all of the Bendis Avengers.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Plot And Villain Details, John C. Reilly’s Role Revealed

guardians-of-the-galaxy-casting-rumors-galore.jpg

As pre-production work on Guardians of the Galaxy draws Marvel’s ambitious sci-fi epic ever closer to shooting, some specifics of the plot are finally starting to leak out. It seems, from these scraps, that certain details have been changed from the original comic books, and there’s a whole patchwork of interrelated ideas and characters drawn together into something rather new. You may consider some of what follows to be rather spoilery.

First of all, let’s address Rhomann Dey. According to HitFix, Marvel have made an offer to John C. Reilly to take this part, “the Agent Coulson of the Guardians movies.” In the comics though, Dey is the head of the Nova Corps. and not a human being from planet Earth. Why the change? Well, it looks like they’ve mixed up some elements of his storyline, which originally saw him select Earthling Richard Rider to join the Nova Corps. It’s not clear, as yet, but those story pieces seem to have been rewoven somewhat…

What’s more, Dey will have a key liaison back on Earth and, while Marvel haven’t settled on any actor yet, they’ve apparently been looking at Hugh Laurie, Alan Rickman, Ken Watanabe… basically, anybody filed under A for Authorative at Casting Central.

We do know that the Nova Corps. are in the film, and not just because Nova ships appeared in some of the concept art. It seems they’ve been reworked, as you might expect, but it worked – is still working, and will continue to work, I expect, with SHIELD, so I see no reason to worry.

Just because the film is going full-on Galactic, it doesn’t mean we won’t be seeing any of the characters from previous Marvel movies. Nick Fury, for example, is set to play an important part when he convinces Groot not to experiment on the human race but to respect and assist them instead. Drax still has his human origins, having been a saxophone player called Art who was killed by Thanos in the Mojave Desert.

While Hit Fix believe that Zoe Saldana hasn’t yet committed to the part of Gamora, there can’t be a lot between her and that final dotted line, what with costume and make-up already in advanced stages of development and testing.

The movie version of Gamora was raised by Thanos and trained to be a deadly killer for his forces, but as soon as she realised what nefarious naughtiness he had on the cards, she went on the run. She’s now looking to put her super strength, super speed and super knife fighting skills to use on the side of the good guys.

It’s not clear how all of the characters will come together, but we can expect to meet Rocket Raccoon alongside his buddy Wal Russ – another anthropomorphic animal, and if any of you think you can guess which kind, I’ll accept answers on a postcard or the back of stuck down envelope. The two critters are initially employed at The Keystone Quadrant, the intergalactic asylum for those who are criminally insane at a cosmic level.

The villain of the film, according to current info, is Michael Rooker as Yondu who, as I previously understood it, was a member of a different Guardians lineup in the comics and not just some kind of space pirate. But yes, Marvel Movieverse rewiring has often been pretty dramatic, but it’s almost always effective.

Also billed as a villain is the role that Lee Pace has taken, but we don’t know – yet – just who that is. Interestingly, though, it’s suggested that he’s being set up for his own spin-off movies, at least in theory. Not that Marvel are looking to make a movie named for and centred around a bad guy – Guardians will see the character switching sides.

I can’t even start to guess who he might be but it’s good to know Pace will get a nice meaty part, though.

There’s still more polishing to be done to the screenplay, with Marvel stalwarts Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely taking the pages through this final scrub-up. Still, planning is at a very advanced stage and there are, relatively speaking, very few pieces left to click into place.

Guardians of the Galaxy is set for release in August of next year. It certainly looks like this one is going to be a big, wild, unpredictable adventure, and I hope James Gunn can really knock it out of the park. I certainly respect the ambition and free-wheeling invention the production has shot for so far.

So thanos is gonna be behind the scenes like in avengers? I'm still curious on when they plan on bringing back the red skull since it looks like he got transported to Asgard

Just commenting a couple different posts in the past week...

If they do Iron Fist, I say f it and compromise by making him Asian and white like a Brandon Lee type

Spider-Man going back to Marvel would be awesome and I remember reading last year that Garfield was a huge fan of Avengers and hoped something could be worked out with Spidey at least having a cameo in a future Avenger film or something like that. Also having the ability for Osborn to be involved in the Avengers universe would be huge.

1st Class was cool but DOFP just sounds like they are trying to do way to much and this film was going to be a disaster.

Your sarcasm detector must be broken...

That article consists of confirmed statements, pretty likely rumors, and speculation but yeah I don't think Thanos is gonna be the main villain but just more set up to what kind of threat he is, similar to the set up and hints at the end of phase 1 marvel movies that led up to Avengers.

I wouldn't be surprised if they included Nova in the film. He's been prominently featured in a lot of recent marvel projects. If anyone out there plays UMVC3 you'll realize that many of the marvel characters were featured because of marvels movie tie in. Rocket Raccoon and Nova were added as new characters around the same time guardians of the galaxy was announced.
