GotG Director James Gunn on Thanos.

"We have Thanos," Gunn said. "Thanos is the thing connecting us to the rest of the Marvel Universe at this point and in the future we'll see what happens after this, but for right now, we're connected to the rest of the Marvel Universe because we're resetting the end of The Avengers."

I wonder what he means by "resetting the end of The Avengers."

resetting the end of avengers 2 ?
Does anyone understand what he means with that?

By the way, Man of Steel was ok. I wish it had more music to it.Did anyone else notice one of the trucks in the movie said "Lexcorp" on it? that was cool.

I think by 'resetting', Gunn meant reconnecting the dots from the end of The Avengers, since I'm assuming none of the other phase 2 movies touch base on Thanos again other than GotG

They have pretty much confirmed that Thanos will have a "mastermind" role in GotG and that he is going to be behind the scenes for the most part. So yeah I think it is just to reconnect them to the Avengers universe w/o actually interacting with them since it looks like GotG won't be used for Age of Ultron.

So does this confirm that IM won't have a cameo in GotG?

Not confirmed but yeah, he likely won't. I mean it was also rumored that his Deep Space Armor would have him meeting GotG as an end credit scene for IM3 but that never panned out. Especially with IM3 ending with all his suits destroyed, seems really unlikely right now.

So if I have everything charted correctly, we are looking at.....

The Wolverine this weekend
Thor 2 2013
Cap 2 2014
Spiderman 2 2014
X-Men DoFP 2014
GotG 2014
Avengers 2 2015
Superman/Batman 2015
Ant-Man 2015
Spiderman 3 2016
The Flash 2016
Justice League 2017
Avengers 3 2017 (2018?)
Spiderman 4 2018

And then the possibilities of Iron Man 4, Thor 3, Cap 3, Black Panther, any Hulk solo projects all still in play as well the next 4-5 years. An absolute golden age for Comic Book Movies.

Phase 2:
IM3: May 3, 2013
Thor 2: Nov 11, 2013
CA2: Apr 4, 2014
GotG: Aug 1, 2014
A2: May 1, 2015

Phase 3:
AntMan: Nov 6, 2015
???: May 6, 2016
???: Jul 28, 2016
???: May 5, 2017

No IM4 from what I understand, RDJ only signed up for A2 & A3. One of those blanks will likely be a Dr Strange film as Marvel wants that character to be the next IM that connect everything together. BP is a huge possibility as well. As for the Hulk, lately I am hearing more about a possible TV Show than another film.

Since it's Flash that would have a solo first before the JL movie, is it possible that they have him as the 3rd part of the trinity rather than WW?

I just don't understand Pym not being in Avengers 2. Hopefully there's an Easter Egg or they allude to him.
