News On Future Films Based on Comics/Paranormal/Sci-Fi

it was about money. norton will act in anything with anyone as seen in the dictator lol

ruffalo is a goof. if they ever do make another hulk stand alone movie i hope norton is in it.

but that is just wishful thinking

Wouldn't avengers have felt that much more complete if norton was in it instead of ruffalo? I didn't mind ruffalo though, he'd did his thing :smokin

Agree with both of you. Ruffalo was okay, at best. But Norton would've made it all much better.

I like what I am seeing from GotG but anyone else skeptical it will be that successful? I admit I am one of the few who never thought this project would be made because it'll be very cgi-heavy and that means it'll cost a lot. I can see it being a perfectly good film but like Pacific Rim (also very cgi-heavy and expensive because of it), it might not have the same appeal especially since these heroes are still obscure to most.

Marvel will have to crank out the GotG in the Avengers and Spiderman cartoons to further familiarize the audience to them but I can just see this being mediocre in the box office and maybe not a flop but disappointing to say the least? Captain America only made $370mil, that is a big success with the $140mil budget but GotG will likely cost more and I am not sure it'll reach that number if it came out today. I don't know, I just have that feeling. Anyone with me on that?

Was thinking about this the other day, Marvel has been riding a comic book movie high over the last few years and this could be a test project to gauge the loyalty of the fans and the public. If it does well, Great! If it flops, they'll just recoup whatever losses they make with the Avengers 2 profits.

Kind of. It came out of left field, so I kind of agree. Not sure if making GotG a focal point in the comics (Marvel Now) was a factor. Or vice-versa for that matter. And I also co-sign with what RFX said that having Thanos didn't force Marvel's hand in making GotG. If it was so, they should've dusted off Adam Warlock as well.

‘X-Force’ Movie Will Feature Five-Person Team, Millar Teases

We know Kick-*** 2‘s Jeff Wadlow has been hired to write, and possibly direct, an X-Force movie for Fox. Beyond that, however, details are slim. Indeed, it’s not even clear which lineup of heroes the X-Force movie will feature.

But we now might know how many heroes to expect.

Wadlow and Mark Millar spoke with Slash Film at Comic-Con International to promote the upcoming Kick-*** sequel, and naturally the discussion turned to the developing X-Force. On the topic of which characters Wadlow intends to use for X-Force, the writer kept his lips sealed. Millar, however, let out an interesting detail.

“People are going to be dissecting every name as it gets released,” said Millar, Fox’s consultant on all things Marvel. “So it will be so cool when you have your five.”

Five, he says. That doesn’t exactly narrow down which characters are going to make it into the film — the modern-day Uncanny X-Force lineup is much closer to that number than the robust Rob Liefeld era — but Wadlow has made it clear he’s a fan of both versions.

“I love the current incarnation, Uncanny X-Force. I love what Rob did in the ’90s,” he said. “What’s interesting with X-Men, I mean they have an iconic lineup, so you know who’s going to be in that movie. But X-Force it’s like, ‘Who is it going to be?’ I love that people are guessing.”

Interesting...

Leonardo DiCaprio Passed On 'STAR WARS: EPISODE VII' For 'ROBOTECH' ?

Reportedly, famous A-list actor Leonardo DiCaprio (The Great Gatsby, Inception) was up for a role in Star Wars but passed because he is keen on landing a role in a live-action adaptation of (what Americans know as) "Robotech".

Back in January, newcomer Nic Mathieu was hired by Warner Bros. to direct the picture so it appears that development on the film is highly active. Back in 2007, actor Tobey Maguire, at the height of his "Spider-Man" fame tried to get a live-action Robotech film off the ground but it sputtered and flamed out before it could take off.

Ryan Gosling & Zac Efron Up For STAR WARS EPISODE VII?

Latino Review report that Ryan Gosling (Only God Forgives, Drive) and Zac Efron (The Paperboy) are being looked at for roles in Star Wars: Episode VII. The site reckon Gosling would play "Luke's kid", but have no information on which character Efron would play (they assume one of Han Solo/Princess Leia's children). They mention that both actors have "went in" for these roles, so that suggests they've actually read for them and aren't just on Disney's radar. Of course we'll have to take all this as rumor for now, but what do you think of these casting choices? J.J. Abrams will direct the next Star Wars movie with a script from Toy Story 3 scribe Michael Arndt.

I hope they give unknowns a chance to land the lead roles. I kinda like how the original films didn't have established stars.

I don't even know what Robotech is. Will wiki it.

i thought gosling is no longer acting after only god forgives, but i see nothing wrong with him or effron being in the new star wars movie. all i hope for is a good story.

Leo, Gosling, Efron.......not the right casting for Star Wars guys. :smh:

Too damn old.

Old? I think they can pass for 20 somethings, Leo might looks a bit older but he still has that baby face.

Leo and Gosling I have faith in doing well in almost any role they play, Efron though, not so much.

To do this right you want these kids 16-19 at best, so by end of trilogy you get into mid 20's.

Leo/Gosling be pushin 40 almost in 2019. :smh:

Well it depends, what if they shoot it all at once and just do re-shoots throughout the year a la LotR? Plus we really do not know what stories are being told. Didn't Disney say they are doing solo films for these characters? If that is the case, then it might not even be a trilogy and then merge into one film? Plus if Amy Adams can play a 30 year old Lois Lane at 39/40 years old, then these guys could easily stay looking high 20's/early 30's at 40.

2015-17-19 is the 7-8-9 trilogy. Solo projects will fill gaps in between, but likely different eras.

For instance #7 in 2015 can have 70 year old Han Solo and 2016 spin off movie can have 25 year old Han Solo. Hence, Gosling, Leo or whoever not involved.

And they can't film stuff for 2019 in 2014, that has fail all over it.

If Gosling is playing a Solo son, we've already lost. HOWEVER, if Gosling was playing Kyp Durron, well now, then we'd really have something.

I'm waiting patient to find out what timeframe/castings they're looking at, that will tell me where they're heads are at.

They royally, tragically, horrendously ****** up the prequel trilogy. We were supposed to witness Vader in his prime hunting and slaughtering Jedi. Boba Fett being a pimp. Jabba being a bad *** Godfather type. Palpatine kickin ***. Obi Wan in his prime. Legends of all legends. Poetry on screen.

We got a ****** 8 year old boy, followed by another damn boy Boba, with Vader killing kids, and Obi Wan a stupid vag, and Jar Jar God damn Binks. Oh, and 82 year old count Dukoo. I want to beat the living **** out of George Lucas for screwing that up. Absolutely disgusting. :smh:

Cable, Deadpool, Domino are a must. Last two sports can be Fantomex, Warpath, Colossus, maybe Forge?

 Sorry but I am not into Star Wars universe like that so I am really lost with your post. I'll just take your word for it.

Either way, Leo is out since he wants to do Robotech/Macross instead.

With all of the comic flicks releasing, Pixar is dropping the ball by not developing Incredibles 2. There's a demand for it and this is the best time ti put it out.

 no worries. Like how you have comics down, I have SW. So if you ever need any info on that, just let me know. Chester McFloppy is another that knows everything SW.

Were these Episode VII casting descriptions ever confirmed to be true?

Late-teen female, independent, good sense of humour, fit.

Young twenty-something male, witty and smart, fit but not traditionally good looking.

A late twentysomething male, fit, handsome and confident.

Seventy-something male, with strong opinions and tough demeanour. Also doesn’ t need to be particularly fit.

A second young female, also late teens, tough, smart and fit.

Forty something male, fit, military type.

Thirtysomething male, intellectual. Apparently doesn’t need to be fit

Unsure what's what. But too many vague options there. None really sound like the Solo kids or Ben, Mara, Kyp, etc.

70 could be Palleon, but not sure. 40 something could be Karrde, who I hope makes it on film.
Jag Fel could be the 30 year old, but he's fit and military/regal, so not sure yet.

Could all be random Jedi too. Background pieces.

Fantastic four reboot to begin shooting in Louisiana this September. They opted for LA over Vancouver because of tax incentives.

I was unsure of GotG when announced but now that I know what angle they're approaching this from I can see it being a bigger success than most think. Most ppl didn't give these superhero movies much hope when they started out but it's clear Marvel knows what it's doing the way they capitalized off Avengers and the further success or Iron Man. I'm no longer worried knowing what characters will be involved.
I don't really think GotG is essential with Thanos on board, I think Marvel felt that they need to delay his arrival and a GotG movie not only expands their universe and introduce new heroes to the public, but it also delays Thanos' bout with the Avengers w/o making it seem like Marvel just forgot about him. It keeps the interest high.
It's essential because they don't own all of their character's rights and they're not about to just launch any cosmic hero to do Thanos justice. They know in order to get Thanos right they have to have a good amount of heroes going after him a la the Infinity Gauntlet event.
Yeah I get that viewpoint , I'm just speaking on hindsight. To me the perfect villains in the first should of been kang and ultron , with ultron they could of introduced ant man and wasp without a standalone movie . Just really nitpicking ATM thou
I really don't think Marvel was ever that focused on Ant Man and Wasp. They let Ant Man go by to give it a chance and mostly cuz they need more heroes out there to keep things going while they try to get properties like BP and Dr. Strange 100% right for the long haul.
With all of the comic flicks releasing, Pixar is dropping the ball by not developing Incredibles 2. There's a demand for it and this is the best time ti put it out.
Them animated movies take crazy long to make. Like 6 years long sometimes. So they may have already undergone a sequel.
I think a lot of marvel franchises would fail with big budgets , gotg really shouldn't get made in my opinion, but since they introduced thanos in the last avengers they have no choice . I also thing any man will fail from a money making stand point. Their focus should be bp , basically an African batman, and if they own fantastic four them again . Also I would of went with a kang the conqueror for the first villain in the avengers .
Black Panther is not the African Batman. He's definitely not basically that.
