News On Future Films Based on Comics/Paranormal/Sci-Fi

People would be upset and complain if they don't cast Bale.. Until the first trailer drops and everyone craps their pants.

Batman is bigger than one actor.

Batman is definitely bigger than any actor, but for continuity purposes, it makes the most sense. There was half a decade of time between Spider-man films and Spider-man 3 was poorly received. Christian Bale is still Bruce Wayne to a lot of people. He played him in three movies, one of them came out last year. There's already a built-in fan base. Rebooting Batman this soon wouldn't be the best idea if they can get Bale, especially if they end up casting the wrong guy.

Plus they could continue to use Morgan Freeman as Lucious and Michael Caine as Alfred even if they show up for the tiniest part.

If MOS 2 is only going to feature Batman, and not Bruce Wayne, I don't give a **** who they cast.

We don't even know yet if Bruce will be used at all. And that could be the out they need in terms of "re-casting". If Bale declines, they could cast.......Joe nobody, use him in mask for the entire movie, but we'll all know who he is, get used to the idea, pick up his mannerisms, his voice, etc. Then, 2-3 years later, they would have the option for a standalone Batman in which case he can be used as Bruce and most of the backlash/love for Bale will have died down.

They can't just cast anybody as batman though. Even though this is the superman sequel it won't be any secret that the main draw will be batman being fresh off of 2 billion dollar sequels in the past 5 years it might be hard to ignore that batman is just a wee bit more popular than superman this day and age. With that being said DC would be smart to really take there time with this batman issue and try there best to give bale everything he wants

Bale was cool as Batman, obviously a lot better than what we were accustomed to seeing in recent years.

But IMO...wildly overrated. People act like Batman can't exist without Bale. :smh:

Bale made Begins, but besides that... TDK and TDKR were carried by their villains by a long mile.

He isn't as valuable as some people make him seem to be to the Batman franchise.

Just cuz they change the actor doesn't mean they're rebooting but even if they were its clear as day Nolan didn't intend for his Batman to be on any of that super powered alien meta ****. He dealt with a mad man and terrorists. He wasn't the greatest detective, wasn't the smartest man alive, he liked a lot to be trying to go toe to toe with Superman.

When Bale declines y'all dudes should just accept it. Nolan told his story and that was the end of it.

Sort of my point tho. BATMAN is more popular than Superman, but Bruce Wayne is not.

They could make this sequel and not have one single scene with Bruce Wayne in it. (I'm not saying they should, just that they could)

So if Batman is in the movie and we never seen the actor's face 100%, it buys them time, so to speak. Let's us come around to the idea of someone other than Bale donning the mask. And then in the next installment of Batman, we can see him unmasked, and in character as Bruce, and the initial shock and awe will have worn off already.

And LTB, you shouldn't diminish what Bale is. He is the best actor we've seen in a Batman suit. He's better than Clooney, Kilmer, or Keaton. Not better as Batman, better actor period. Bale is one of the best actors there is, you don't just replace someone like that, someone that is Oscar worthy in everything else he does, who just happens to be doing your comic book movie. Not a ton of Oscar caliber actors out there in this world, you don't just replace something like that, ya know?

Eh to that last part. Bale is a great actor (and better than the past actors who portrayed Batman) but unfortunately it did not show in that trilogy. Nolan gave him crap to work with character wise. The portrayal of Bruce and Batman is more forgettable than remarkable for me. It's why I feel ppl's attachment has more to do with what happened in the story and the scale of it than what Bale did with the character.

With that in mind I could see WB moving on if he declines or asks for RDJR money to come back.

Bale was memorable doing that stupid voice and not much else as batman. People just want him back because he's familiar.

Y'all are crazy. Despite the fact that Nolan's trilogy is just a tad bit overrated bale's batman is the best batman we've had on film, period. It's too soon to cast a new batman just for the simple impact the trilogy has had on not just comic book films but films period. Either you bring bale back and enjoy the fruits of an actual DC universe that has some sort of continuity or you release a film that's plagued with skepticism from people who won't understand why there's another batman. The movie will have much more success with bale as batman, its just that simple

Christian Bale reportedly offered $50 million to return in MOS 2.

I doubt he'll return but wow that's a lot of bat bucks to pass on.

He should do it. Stop trying to be the hollywood type snob and drop that pride. **** a typecast if your getting 50 mill.

If they ever announce bale in mos 2 everybody would piss their pants and that movie would make major money. Well major major money

Exactly! I first off don't see how bale would be typecast. Like mentioned above he's an Oscar award winner and has shown through numerous roles he has some serious range but whether its a gift or a curse he's the batman of this generation. This wouldn't be such a big deal if Marvel didnt lay the pressure on so thick. If DC wants to truly build a film universe then bale as batman would be the biggest come up for them. Granted bale would not only have to agree to be batman for this upcoming film but for future installments as well if they go that route but it would just be DC finding their "RDJ". If not well, this world's finest movie will be a nice treat after Avengers 2 breaks every box office record known to man...because it will

I think if he turns it down its part he only wants to work with Nolan on Batman and other part he might be tired of it. He too may feel a way about actually acting in a movie and may prefer that more. Dude is already in a couple other movies coming out this year and on the next few years where he once again is showing off his skill and talent. Bale has never struck me as a guy out for a check or *** when he gets an indecent proposal type offer. Dude is passionate word to Terminator Salvation, even on a sinking ship. Just look at his filmography. He probably ain't just reading the script for his role for a movie but the whole damn script.

When i think Batman, I shall forever think Kevin Conroy. BUT Bale did bring the gritty darkness and pathos to a live action Batman that we've never seen before. I think his Bruce Wayne is always overlooked. His work as the billionaire playboy always worked. I loved Begins and Rises because we saw that the Batman didn't need the cowl and armor to overcome obstacles.

Now do we need a NEW Batman, yes... But would general audiences want the same thing? Imagine the poster with both Cavill and Bale. This was a smart move by the WB if they're really considering brining him back.

Is WB going to turn anymore Batman comics into animated films? Like Dark Knight Returns and Year One?

Hoping for some Knightfall, Long Halloween, Hush, etc

Maybe because I didn't watch it back in 99 but I tried watching it for the first time a few days ago and it did not interest me at all.
Wow that's a first... But if you can watch the episode "OVER THE EDGE." By far one of the greatest batman stories told on tv/cinema.

IMO the animated series still holds up.
And yes Conroy = Batman

You guys really think RDJ would make a good Batman? He'd be a great Bruce Wayne but a horrid Batman. Just get Josh Brolin and make him the "super detective he is in the comics.
